Totems

I made some Vision Totems of the Bee today. I'm not entirely sure what it does but since it gave me some really funky vision - I'm thinking maybe it was suppose to be used on a mob.

Anyone know anything about these things?

Has anyone made any of the other totems yet? From the description I cant see what they are supposed to do. Just curious what the effects are, if they are worth making. If I have spare supplies today and im not swamped with orders Ill try one or 2 and post up results here.

I was going to make one to see what they are about, but one of the subcombines for the Turned Maple Lumber calls for Maple Scraps as the primary component.

I can't find a Maple Scrap recipe anywhere, am I missing something?

Maple scraps are a by-product of refining severed maple. Each time you make maple lumber, you also recieve maple scraps

The totem thread got started over in the woodworker forum back in beta for some reason, and I never really got the information over here.

Maple scraps come from making maple lumber, as mentioned above. Yield is 2 if you make pristine maple lumber.

totem of the bee is a vision buff ... enh ;)
totem of the otter is an enduring breath buff
totem of the bear is bearform for 3 minutes
totem of the rat is ratform for 3 minutes (the 4-legged kind, not a ratonga)

I made some in the last hour of beta, and I want to say I got 2 back on either a 3rd (no name) quality or a pristine. Haven't had a chance to play with them since.

I’ve been wondering how these totems work, and what they do: looks like I have half my questions answered already, thanks guys! Does anyone know how to use the totems though?

--Are they consumables like potions, with a number of uses?
--If so, do you use them from your backpacks (like food) or are they something that goes in that “useable” slot in my inventory?
--Assuming the above are in the ballpark of correct, and these are something you’ll need to keep stocked up on, do similar quality level totems stack?

Just hit 10 tonight and joined the ranks of the Craftsmen, need to find my Society in the morning. Can’t wait to try building some of these!

Theyre one-use only and has to be put in your usables slots and dont stack. Which is kind of annoying because it takes up 3 slots in your backpack for every one made.

Note on the Totem of the Otter (Enduring Breath), it seems to be good for 15 minutes OR until you attack something :(

I can confirm bear and otter. And I can also confirm that the otter EB buff is removed after attacking. Fairly disappointing.
