Anyone have particularly profitable outfitter recipes? I'm really struggling for money at this point, and can barely afford to buy new crafting books each level. When I adventure I never seem to make any money, I always end up with just a few copper worth of gnoll saliva, or whatever.

There is a repeatable quest in forest ruins. The sergeant asks you to go out and kill vermin. This will net you between 20-30 cp every time you do it. While its not much, I always seem to find nodes to harvest on my way out to kill the beasts and it makes it much less tedious than looking for nodes.

Sadly the critters are all grey now so I don't get any xp with them.

wholesaler tasks pay 70~cp for the first 4 lvls. Then 12sp for the antonican tasks. You can make good money and stock up on resources at the same time trying to get the ones you need. Takes 40 skill to harvest there tho.

The forest ruins one is nice because you can harvest there too to get your skills up above 40. There's another, more profitable one in North Qeynos though from the guard (Alesso?) at the closed gate. It's called Civil Service and is also repeatable. Kill 10 rats, 10 snakes, 10 mites.. Got 3sp for a reward the second time I did it.

Here is a method I stumbled across to level quickly and make a few coins in the process. Granted, it's not an outfitter recipe--- but it does the trick.

I stumbled across it trying to use the 2 stacks of Frog Legs I harvested in the Forest Ruins tring to get my Gathering, Mining, etc. skills up to par. To make Baked Frog Legs requires packets of spice. All that is needed to make the spice is the Level 3 Artisan's Volume and salt, pepper and coal at the Stove & Keg workstation. The components each sell for 6c each or 1s 20c per stack.

Not only will producing a stack of spice (Grade 3 or Grade 4) almost yield a full level of XP at lvl 4-8, but it continues to give about 30-40% level XP at lvl 13. I went from lvl 8 to 14 in about 4-5 hours doing nothing but spice packets. The beauty of it is not just the rapid advancement, but the combines sell back to the merchant for 25c for a profit of 7c each (1s 40c per stack). Not only did I gain levels very quickly, but made about 15s in the process.

I seriously doubt if this is a bug or an exploit since it becomes trivial at lvl 14 and there many other ways to make a lot more money. I just think its nice that there is a way to get to the intermediate levels rather quickly and make a little coin at the same time.

The thing i like to do for cash is prep backpack combos, then store everything in the bank so i can sell as many bags as possible as well as some other things. What i do is produce enough rawhide/tanned leather plates, cords, get tin/iron buckles from my scholar friend, then deposit everything i can in bank. I also try to make 4-5 Rawhide/Tanned Leather Bandoliers, which are the ranged slot item needed to allow you to use throwing axes. I go to commonlands and auction the Rawhide bags and bandoliers for 6sp each, and tanned leather versions for 12sp, i also include a free stack of tin throwing axes for each bandolier purchase. On a good night of a few hours i can make 75-150sp while hunting. If i dedicate myself to marketing and zone around alot i can usually average 2-3gp a night.

Get your gathering up to 46, easy to raise because gathering nodes are often ignored in tier 1. Get out to Antonica and hit those roots. There will never be too many tubers on the market and in 2 hours I can usually get 3 stacks. Sell them at peak crafting time for best price (around 75c on my server).

60 x 75c = 45 silver

Good money till you get high enouhg to make real money crafting.

Den,
Good info, but i think the gathering in tier 1 must have changed since you posted. Now, everyone and their pet goat are in tier 1 zones raising skills.
Just an FYI, no flame comin from me.

Mmmmmmm, dunno Goonie, maybe it's a server thing. Now and again I decide to try to finish trapping (given up sooo many times) so I still see tier 1. Natural gardens seem to go untouched on my server to the point where I clear them up and destroy it all in case it effects spawn rates of other nodes, which I'm still unsure of.

If it does, and it makes sense it would, then Antonica should be showing twice what it does. I took a swim right around the coast and the North Coast was lined with fish nodes, literally, barely a gap between them.

have made virtually 90% of all my money doing backpacks and elm boxes. Yes, I have an outfitter and a craftsman, so I have better chances at the pristine stuff...

Someone said it earlier...I just pile up on the rawhide plates, buckles, and cords/straps...and just make til I'm full of them..then I go auctioning around the various suburbs of qeynos. I usually run out of them before I hit half the suburbs.

I keep both boxes and bags in bank and inventory because some peeps want boxes and others want bags. I satisfy both markets doing this. Very profitable.

And I don't charge outrageously...10sp for the pristine elm boxes, and 7sp for the pristine 6slot bags. I usually knock off 1 silver on multiple purchases.

BTW, I'm not rich. But I'm not struggling for cash either. It's just a good living!
