Society Question

Does it matter which Society you join? From what i have been reading it seems you can join any of the different societies and do any artisan type. Is this correct?

You can join one of ANY wholesaler and then one of ANY of your class specific society (scholar, outfitter or craftsman)

However there is a bug at the moment that if you join a class society you are removed from your wholesaler one and vice-versa.
