I'm not sure if the rest of you feel this way, but I think the packet of spice recipe should return multiple packets per combine. With almost every type of meat needing to be refined before being used in most recipes, it just takes forever, plus enough coin (18cp per packet or 36cp from wholesaler) to make stacks of this stuff, just to refine what we harvest for our recipes.
I sent feedback, I just hope they choose to change this just as they did for alchemy tempers/oils/washes. I'd be happy with 2 per return if they think 4 would be too much for pristine, since I seem to be leveling up as much on the preliminary combines than I am on the final products.

Well, not to disagree with your primary point here, because chemistry does return multiples of certain things while baking does not, but I think you are supposed to be in the normal course of affairs levels as much or more on preliminary combines. That's the point, because it restricts the overflow of goods into the market. You make fewer final things, taking longer (though getting credit for it as you go) and the market stays at least sane.
I think part of the logic for chemistry returning multiples is that they sell their stuff to other people in the long run. Baking, however, uses the very thing you personally produce.

I agree that getting xp off interm items does result in a major portion of your TS xp, but I made a stack of baked froglegs once, making my own packets of spice, and it was just rediculous. 40 combines for 20 froglegs that provide roughly the same health regen as bought food, just last twice as long. And lets not forget the cost, 18 per spice, 24 per frogleg total. So that's 4 silver, 80 copper to make the stack 20 hours of grubbage). How much does 4 stacks of rations cost? 6cp for 15 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong... only ever bought rations once)? So it takes 4 rations to make an hour of grubbge, so 80 rations (4 stacks) at 6cp each makes... 4 silver, 80 copper! The only thing you save is 3 blocks of inventory space for at least an hour of work, and that's if you get a stack of froglegs for free, either by harvesting them yourself or from guildies and friends giving them to you. Definately not worth it as it is.

I was rooting through my vault last night, and I observed i had not mined any salt lately. Did they remove it from the tier 1 harvests? Just curious.

I've only ever seen salt and pepper on the Isle, never in town. So far as I can determine you have to buy them to make your spices once in Qeynos/Freeport.

While Tier 0 food (like frog legs) only offers the same regen as bought food, Tier 1 and beyond offer significantly better regen than bought food. Crab poppers gave me 38/tick regen, compared to 20/tick regen with summoned food.
