Hey guys,
Almost level 17 Outfitter here, got together with a scholar friend of mine last night and did some work on teir 2 armor. Did mostly leather, because I feel tailoring is the easyist aspect to ensure a sucess for.

The armor is fairly high in AC, we're talking 40 or so for most peices, usually +2/+4 health/power or vice versa. There is a set bonus that I am one peice from, had made 2 harness' by mistake and blew my last stoma wash =/.

Class BP's are compareably better than Teir 2 armor, they offer +3 agi/int/sta or so, opposed to the pristine armor's power/health bonus'.

Chainmail, was very disapointing. As when I started the BP, it uses metalshaping skills, which most of us would have barely used at all by the time we get to chainmail armor.

Overall, the stuff provides better AC, and stats than storebought, but some quest/dropped loot beats us out bad.

I managed to make 4 peices of chainmail this weekend at level 16. 2 Chain Gloves and 2 chain helms. Even with a metalshaping of only 38 I managed to make a pristine chain helm and all the rest at tier 3 success.

Let me tell you that the chain armor on pristine is absolutely fabulous. It maxes out at a skill of 100, had +22 Divine resist, +11 mental resists, about 2-3 other stat bonus's and EASILY out AC'd my store bought brigandine helm.

IMO the chain armor is far and away the better when compared to comparable difficulty of leather. I made 4 tanned leather gloves and a helm for folsk in my guild and all were prostine as well and they only hade +5 hits and +4 power and no resists mod on them. Great AC, level ranged to 20 but no where near as good as the pristine chain helm I made for myself.

I was luckily able to make the chain helm a pristine even though the recipe was a yellow con and got about 12% of a craft level of XP just for that one combine. I should mention that all components in that combine were pristine.

I also received about 9% level XP from making a Pristine forged iron greatsword that was a blue recipe for the first time. All components for that were pristine as well.

Let me just say, for the most part the Pristine Chainmail is very nice. Banged out 2 full sets last night. Servers just when down or I would post the stats.
However, certain peices are a big letdown, the main one being the Breastplate. It have nice AC, though at 14th level as a warrior it was worse then the Militia breatplate I got for becoming a warrior. However the Militia BP caps at 15, the Pristine Chain at 20, so the AC in the long run on the Pristine is better. But the stats are low... I mean low, the boots have better stat bonuses then the breastplate does. All it gives is around +15 to 2 saves. Thats all. And is hardly compairable to other 20 con BP that I have seen.

I've noticed the same of certain weapons that I have banged out, Pristines simply aren't up to snuff across the board.
