I can always count on getting good answers at this site. Good answers without the negative comments you get at other sites.

I have a couple of characters living in Neriak and I have just had enough of the lag and decided to move to Freeport. You used to have an option to collect and relinquish when you right clicked on your door. relinquishing is no longer an option. I thought maybe it was an option given when you went to purchase your new home. I traveled all the way to Freeport to find that is not the case.

So how does one go about changing residences now? Do you have to betray Neriak to move to Freeport? That seems odd since they are both evil cities allied together.

Thanks,
Zoo

I have never moved from one city to another, just within the same city. And I do think there is a type of betrayal that you are talking about. As for the general moving, there is no need to relinquish your house. Just go to the new place you want to live as you stated and click purchase.

I think the problem you are having is that you do need to do a quest before you change cities. I know there are quests to move from Kelethin to Qeynos and vice versa.

Hyelaw's right. You will need to do a quest to change your citizenship but, tis not a full-blown betrayal since you're staying Evil. I don' know the NPC(s) you'll need to talk to, as I've only done one citizenship change from FP to Neriak.

When you change from one city to a like-aligned city, it is a citizenship quest, instead of a full betrayal.

eq2i (eq2.wikia) has a good timeline of which who needs to do what where when pulling off that little stunt here (http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Citizenship_Timeline#Changing_Citizenship_Within_Y our_Alignment)

Citizenship quest...

*Reminisces about the old-skool, original Qeynos citizenship quest that you had to do before they'd let you into the city proper...*

Now they let just about anyone walk right on in... *shakes his head a bit*
