View Full Version : Recipe Book Guides - more eyeballs needed

I feel like I've run my brain through some odd gnomish whirligig thingamabob a time or three, and I simply can't parse anymore to proofread these.

Be that as it may, I decided when trying to rewrite the old guides on finding recipe books that it was going to be easier to just start fresh. I've been chipping away at them since last week, despite a few edits that, for one reason or another, didn't properly save, and required I go back and re-write stuff I'd already added to the pages ... twice.

If you get a chance, please eyeball Recipe Book Basics (http://www.eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g70&menustr=040000000000) and Recipe Books - A More In-Depth Look (http://www.eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g222&menustr=040000000000) and nudge me about stuff that's still as clear as mud, incorrect, or flat-out missing.

Thanks!

on the in more detail page ..

You have a very LONG link going to the Transmuter page

This is one long run on link ... also the bolded part doesn't make much sense :P
(These are things you can make if a customer provides you with the bits and pieces needed to make the adornment" and let you further if you feel like it.

Emerald Halls Recipes
Emerald Halls is a tier 7 raid instance located in Lesser Faydark. Special rare recipe books, each containing a single recipe, and the rare primary ingredients, drop only in this zone. Each of the nine main tradeskill classes will have at least one level 70 recipe available to them from this zone. Each recipe will have "charges", which limit the number of combines that you can perform with that specific recipe before it disappears from your recipe book. Details on recipe and item names can be found in the Emerald Halls Recipe List )

I think this is what you meant to type: " And, we'll let you take it further (http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq2/showthread.php?t=6502) if you feel like it .. "

---

I did a quick run through and at this time that was my only issue.
Though, you will have to update these pages again as soon as Domino finishes her Crafting Class quests ( or at least I have good feeling on it ..) since I do believe the provisioners will be getting another "Mastery book". And, of course she has said that (hopefully) in LU#43 all the rest of the classes should be getting their Kunark Flavored recipes. ...

Okay, I did have 1 more thought ..you know how you have the descriptions broke down as "Hair of the Dog, etc. - Provisioners"

I think it would have a better flow if the descriptions were:
Craftsman:
Carpenters:
Altars:
Kunark Flavor (eventually):

Provisioners:
Infusions & Reductions:
Mastery Books:

Woodworkers:
Kunark Flavor (eventually): ...

Etc .. that way people will see the [ class ] that affects them first and the subject of the disscussion 2nd ..
Provisioners: Hair of the Dog, etc ..

Fixed the missing close to the link in the transmuting section. Thanks!

I'll tackle the other re-titling and such when less frain bried.

I know it'll need to change "soon" as more stuff is added, but I want to get the basics down pat now, while I have some time and energy, rather than wait and then have it get buried on my to-do list yet again.

frain bried {giggle} here have some chocolate :)

In the basics guide... as this is aimed at newbies how about a link to the starting tradeskilling quests page - and say that the rewards for the series of quests are the artisan essentials books (so that strapped-for-cash newbie doesn't have to spend their hard earned coppers on buying the books!)

A minor point - you kindly remind the would-be tinkerers to purchase their reaction arts - same for transmuters?

On the more detail page... all scholars produce dusts when they make adept III spells not just sages

It looks good Mum :)

Good points all, and changes, fixes made. (I really meant to type scholars for the dust, not sages, but have now spelled it out.)

Thanks and keep the suggestions coming, folks!

For the In-Depth Guide

When did Gnomeland Security move to Butcherblock Mountains...darn gnomes, moving from Steamfont...now I'll never be able to find my recipes!

In other news, this week Gnomeland Security is in Burning Woods, which is hovering 1 mile above Qeynos but moving N/NW at 1-gnome-per-hour...

I see your confusion, you were looking at the 'Holiday' Burning Woods schedule which was used over Christmas, but now it's back to running on the regular weekday schedule... /grin
