View Full Version : Poll: What will you be?

Ok, here's a new poll for those of you curious who is going to be 'What'. Unfortunately I can't do another 'Where and What' poll since they expanded the Artisan selections, but I think we pretty much established that Qeynos is looking popular at this time. :)

I don't know why those of you who requested that I do another poll didn't do it yourself. :) Unless you really wanted this poll to be done by The Infamous Contributor Grei. ;)

This time I'm getting smart and setting it for 90 days. Either we'll all have a good idea of what we want to be by then...or they'll change things again. ;)

I am the Leader of the craftsman/woman in my Guild, and we have a great deal of differnt types, but seems that the Sage is the most popular in my guild.

I'm interested in tailor at this time, but who knows where I'll end up. I probably won't decide until I've dabbled with them all on the Isle of Refuge.

Among my circle of friends carpenter has come up most often, which was surprising to me.

I voted tailor because I really prefer the social crafting as well as it seems leather armor is in there as well but I may go armorsmith to help my guild out the most but I will definitely be an outfitter is all I can say at this point :)

Right now I'd have to say that I'm leaning toward jeweler. I'm hoping that there will be some jeweler/weaponsmith interdependency, because my husband's character will be a weaponsmith. Also, I'd just like to have some pretty things to wear :) If not jeweler then I'd probably go for cooking skills...since that's just great for RP, plus useful. Or tailor...but the description so far seems to be just about armors, and I'm not actually interested in making armors; I'd prefer to make attractive normal clothes that can support roleplaying stuff. (Sometimes you really do need to have the right outfit for RP :) )

I am not sure what the exact statement I saw but I thought it said clothing and leather armor. Probably the only reason you are hearing more about the armor is that on the scale of the masses more people are worried about their adventure class and what better items they will have.

I am all about being a tailor for the RP aspect and just to look good and make others look good :)

I think it is a good idea they have the leather armors in tailor to make them more useful in a game such as this and giving them something to make more money on that they would from just making clothing and components. I know I made more money as an armorsmith than a tailor on SWG but I loved being a tailor the most also and felt like easier "work" to me.

Besides the ladies love a tailor ;)

I chose Provisioner because I've always loved the baking/brewing part of EQ... but I may also do another trade, not sure which though.

I voted weaponsmith.

But I havent finally decided between weaponsmith and armorer.
But Im leaning towards weaponsmith.
After playing with the cc disc Id love to be a troll weaponsmith in Qeynos.
But Id go for barb, gnomer or kitty also. And prolly cba with the betrayal quest.

I'll probably try weaponsmith first. But I'd like to see what gets saturated right away. I like to stay away from the uber-competitive markets.

I'm still undecided, but I am leaning toward either a Provisioner, Tailor, or Sage for my main. Probably will end up a tailor due to my character's backstory, but will probably have two or more pure artisan alts to try out the other classes.

interesting that the two scout tradeskills woodcrafting and alchemy are starting off really slow.

I picked Woodcrafting since I'll be a Scout/Ranger type and like to keep myself, and others, outfitted. I was surprised to see I was only Whittler so far.

I voted for jeweler.

It was a toss up for me between provisioner and jeweler, but I think I finally decided to try both with two characters.

My full time main artisan will be a provisioner and my second semi full artisan will be a jeweler. Just sounds too fun to not want to do both.

Hope the crafting is as nice as they first made it sound.

I'm looking forward to playing a weaponsmith, I really hope they compare to drop weapons at the same level. I know it not going to be easy but I can't wait for the day that some one searches me out to make a weapon from rare ore they found from a raid and I create that uber weapon, how cool would that be :) but playing any artisan should be fun and with equel pride when u done your best work.

Erudite Warlock Sage living in Qeynos.

I wanted to play something hopefuly offbeat from all the others living in qeynos. People associate warlock = evil = cool to be = go to freeport. Maybe I'll be a rareity. Sages will probably be an ovesaturated class, probably every caster there is will be one. I could really care less cause thats the way I picture erudites, very scholarly all always dabbling in the reading of ancient texts and books

I am actually surprised the two lowest are Alchemist and Woodworker. Maybe not so much thinking about this being where most of the true artisans are going to come to check in on things.

Just seemed everyone I heard wanted to make poisons and all the rangers wanted to make bows and such.

I'm surprised too, since poisons and potions were restricted in EQL. I figured everyone would finally have the freedom to do so , and would take advantage.

Well, I'm just going to be my usual wishy washy self. ;) I won't pick anything until the last minute. :)

Seriously though, I just don't have a clue as to what seems to be the most interesting. I'll probably just end up making my decision based on how things go at each decision point.

That is more or less what I will probably do just being that I don't know how anything is at all yet. Just I really see tailor pulling me in if we get to make all kinds of neat clothes. The armor is kind of a bonus but I just really enjoyed tailor in SWG.

I didn't do the poll, as my immediate response when seeing this was "I can't just pick one!" I'm notorious for having an army of alts, and this time won't be any different. Going to likely leave scribe and armorsmith to hubby, if he keeps his interest in them ... I want to play with furniture, and tailoring, and cooking and ... um ... lots. :)

Time will tell what I stick with, especially since I'm sure things are still in the development phase. It's really going to be hard to narrow it down to even 2 or 3 until we see the final product.

(And yes, I had fun with tailor in SWG ... but also had fun "just" making and selling tons of furniture, too. ;D)

Architect was my first artisan profession and I had a blast with that also :) I am very into the "social" craftings and am a total socializer in game. I just hope it works out in EQ 2 as much as it did in SWG for me :D

I liked tailoring and baking in SWG. It did get a little monotonous after awhile and playing that with EQ 24/7, EQ won out to take our time.

In some ways now that I've semi retired EQ, I wish I could pick up SWG again and goof off my own way.

I was one of my server's first master tailors on one account, master BE on the other. Then I profession-hopped all over (of course, right before major fixes to BE that made it more fun and workable :O).

Also did master merchant and master artisan, master musician, MCH, and then the furniture line of architect (our guild already had several masters, so I took some load off them by handling the "fluff"). Somehow ended up back as a tailor again ... but on the other account.

Yes, "just" two accounts and all that profession-hopping. Then I went back to playing EQ again this year, and got slurped into ATITD as well.

Mostly, though, I seem to have finally joined hubby in biding my time until EQ2. :)

As long as we have Den Mom and N'greth, what more do we need? :)

Well, besides Beta invites or a release date or more crafting information or...

At least we still have Den Mom and N'greth. ;)
