View Full Version : Quick question on quivers

Now that paladins can actually use bows, I find that I'm in the market for a quiver. Is there any difference between the different levels of quivers besides their holding capacity? In old EQ higher level quivers would actually lower the delay on using your bow; is that the case here or no?

I believe that quivers are just specialized containers for arrows, nothing else. Probably quickest way to check is just run to the Broker and search for 'quiver'.

Yepyep, quivers are just like backpacks and strongboxes, in that different tiers only have a slot difference.

Thanks... found a good deal on a stonehide quiver, so going with that, don't think it will be necessary to carry more than 14 stacks of arrows at any given time, lol, so dragonhide seems a waste. Now to work on my ranged weapon skill so I can actually hit something, lol...

As a paladin, PROBABLY any quiver would be good enough.
As a ranger, I have a horned quiver (16 slot) and I (rarely) DO use the whole thing sometimes (even using "makeshift" to get refills between fights) - but as a ranger almost ALL my attacks (including autoattack) are archery based (I only melee when soloing or the rare occasions where I end up tanking.. doesn't happen often, but in normal xp or quest groups if there's not any fighters around...). I've CONSIDERED using the next dragonhide I harvest to make a quiver for the two extra slots, but I'll probably not worry about it. If you get to that point, throw a few extra stacks in another bag on your person, and shift them up into the quiver when you get low. I TRY to have 2-3 extra on me and I seem to only run out when I either forget to makeshift between fights OR when I forget to do a refill between groups.

Which is probably why I level so slow.. I don't go lfg until the quiver is full.. 10 mins per 30 arrows, getting to 1584 takes a while... ;)

Well as a paladin will probably only use my bow for the sake of pulling lol... right now I'm shooting anything green or higher that moves for the sake of catching my ranged skill up, just using cheap storebought arrows atm. 14 and counting!

Dragonhide is pretty cheap of my server (Guk) at least, can usually get one for 25 to 50g or so. For a ranger may be worth it. For me 16 is plenty (basically just got the best quiver made from common materials.)

Stand on the docks in SS and just fling arros at fish with a quiver full of tin arrows, you'll be maxxed overnight. The fish kep breaking and you never lose your target.
