This afternoon I bought a copy of Enigma of the Tailor Volume 7. I switched to an alt to pick it up, because the fellow was in GFay, and I only have a newbie Fae there. I deposited it into Guild Bank 4, and switched back to my tailor to scribe it. To my dismay, it had transmuted itself into Enigma of the Alchemist Volume 1!
My first thought was that I had been stupid and not read the title when he put it in the trade window, even though I ALWAYS do, since I got caught once in EQ1. So I verified in my log:
(1163809493)[Fri Nov 17 19:24:53 2006] You have accepted the trade.
(1163809498)[Fri Nov 17 19:24:58 2006] You receive \aITEM 183119111 243606559:Enigma of the Tailor Volume 7\/a from XXXXXX.
Next I checked my inventory to make sure I had in fact put the book in GB4, which I had. Then I checked the event log for GB4, and found that as soon as I deposited it, it had transmuted.
I have already /bugged it and /petitioned as well, in hopes of getting my book back, but I am mostly here to warn others, be very careful about sticking pricey new books in the guild bank to transfer them. I warned my guild and the guild of the fellow that sold it to me, but I figured it would get seen better here. Good luck, and 'ware the nasty GB4.
