View Full Version : That blasted CC disc...

Well, I've been busy tearing apart my local area for that CC disc, hoping to find someplace that has it so I can give them my preorder and walk out with it (as I'm in the middle of a move and know where I will be in a month's time, but not where I will be until then).

And of course I've been getting the 'well, we had some...but they're gone now. Why don't you order and we'll get you one next week' story.

Grrrrrrrr....

Not that I _really_ have that much time while moving...but it would've been nice to read through and tinker with while taking a break.

Oh well, two last places to check on my way out to my new place...they're closer to the new place than my old place, which is probably a good thing. If they have them...if not, guess I can just order and have done with it--or wait until Sony starts doing preorders...

And to keep this within a suitable Artisan rant...where's our Artisan information at? We're starting to get supporters of Artisans thinking that the system is a flop due to the lack of information...

I actually heard something interesting. When the actual game comes out you will be able to purchase the CC disk for 15 $. I'm not sure I believe it because I trust EB games as far as I can spit a horse, but if it's true it seems kind of silly.

I do have a suggestion. I think if you preorder from the station store they will send you a disk as late as aug. 1.

I'll be between residences on August 1st, sadly. :) Hence why I've been trying to find a store that has the CC disc so I can walk out with it in my hot little hands and not have to worry about them needing to get ahold of me until EQ2 actually is released. :) I know where I will be living through the end of the year...it's just the next 2 weeks that I'm not reachable other than online and/or if you happen to catch me near a phone at my old place. :(

Yay...got the disc at long last. Too bad it'll have to wait until tonight for me to play with it. I so hate packing and moving...

Yay, I know everyone is different and I actually messed with it a couple times just to see stuff, but I learned I am not much into making characers I can't play after I do :)

And I hate moving more than you I am sure :P

Yes, not being able to play with the character after creating it is a bit annoying. But it does give me time to tinker and make it look 'just right'.

I'm currently leaning towards Wood Elf after tinkering...but mainly because I haven't found a Gnome or Halfling that really screams 'Grei' yet. But I'll keep playing, who knows...something better might show up.

Did play around with Iksar a bit--was rather disappointed that I couldn't get a 'Godzilla' look. I wanted to take out Tokyo, errr, Freeport so badly too... ;)

There's been changes to the CC process so the CC disk wont exactly match the game when it goes live. You could still use the exact character you made but there may be some options present in live that weren't on the CC disk that you may want to opt for. I've been using the CC disk to get a general idea what I want my character to look like but I'm planning on it changing somewhat when I get the actual game.

I saw a few copies in Game in Birmingham the other week. you might want to try your local branch. I got mine from Ubi though about a month ago.

I *cough* downloaded mine a while back.. in fact the skin for Ariadne is one I created before I got into beta, and I love one of my others (high elf) that I'm torn slightly between Ari the gnome or high elf for release.. think I'll stick with gnome though, and my high elf can be a jeweller...

There's also an issue when loading a saved character setup where it'll actually apply all the loaded file's information on the character, but not change the sliders in the actual game itself.

So if you load a character up, don't go clicking around any of the sliders as it'll overwrite the loaded values with the ones it has.

Example: If you save a character with a primary hair color of a bright white, and secondary of a bright orange, you'll see that when you load that file back up in the game. But if you then click on the primary hair color option, it'll change to whatever the random color was that it selected when you went into the character selection screen.

So as long as you don't go clicking around after you load the saved character looks, you should be okay.
