*** The Height of Fashion ***
- Tailors can now create new fashionable clothing for Norrath's finest.
- These fashionable wears will be of various colors and can be equipped in the chest slot to change your entire clothing appearance.
- New recipes are granted beginning at level 20 and continuing to level 70 for the epitome of glamorous clothing.
*** Consignment ***
- New containers and vendors will allow you to list more items of a specific type for consignment.
- Visit your favorite carpenter to acquire one of the new vending containers.
- Carpenters will find that they have recipes for these containers distributed from level 20 on in rare recipe books.
- The container types are as follows:
* Salesman's Crate: Used for all item types, and is larger than standard bags or boxes.
* Furniture Shelf: Used for furniture.
* Armor and Shield Rack: Used for armor and shields.
* Weapon Rack: Used for weapons.
* Pantry: Used for food and drink.
* Scroll Stand: Used for spell, combat art, recipe scrolls and books.
* Bag Stand: Used for containers.
* Potion Cabinet: Used for potions and poisons.
* Jewelry Box: Used for accessories.
*** Player-versus-Player ***
- To assist their followers with the ongoing struggle, both Lucan and Antonia have hired Spell Transcribers to deal with Master I scrolls that cannot be used by their citizens. Seek out Octavius Syntral in North Freeport or Tabatha Cantra in Qeynos Harbor for more details about their services.
- New PvP rewards can be found from the merchants in North Freeport and Qeynos Harbor for levels 20-39.
- If a player initiates PvP with a red con player, the red con player will now receive infamy and faction for defeating the lower level player.
*** Items ***
- You can now sell your Stein of Moggok to merchants to make some extra cash.
- Most non-tradeskilled earrings have had the Lore flag added to them. You'll know why this is the case soon. ;)
*** Zones and Population ***
- Drops from Anuk's Council are now given after the council has been defeated.
- Nosno the Naysayer is now simply Nosno. He finally found his way to the Commonlands where he has given up his dream of collecting a harem and now lodges with the kerra in the village southwest of the Crossroads.
- ZaZa Lenska and her husband have moved out of Temple Street and into the Commonlands with the ratonga.
- Crispin has taken his search for fresh recruits into the Sprawl, conveniently much closer to the trials he subjects potential recruits to.
- Manius has left Beggar's Court to be closer to the action. He can now be found in Sunken City.
- Tilzak has taken his pretend search for shark fins to the Sunken City.
- Zekvila has taken up residence in the Graveyard.
- Daryann Stormrider can now be found in Windstalker Village in Antonica.
*** Combat ***
- Racial Hide Abilities: Increased stealth duration for up to 30 minutes. Reduced recast timer to 5 minutes.
Fighter changes:
- Monk: Arctic Talon: Casting time is now 0.5 seconds instead of instant cast.
- Paladin: Prayer of Consecration: Correctly set level to 58. All tradeskill recipes were adjusted accordingly.
Mage changes:
- Illusionist: Aspect of Thought: Group mental resistance will not apply to charmed enemies.
- Coercer: Power of Mind: Group mental resistance will not apply to charmed enemies.
Scout changes:
- Ranger: Trick Shot: No longer dispels a hostile debuff on the recipient of the NPC's blame.
- Swashbuckler: False Blade: No longer dispels a hostile debuff on the recipient of the NPC's blame.
- Troubador: Arcane Chorus: Group mental resistance will not apply to charmed enemies.
*** Achievements ***
- Summoner: Animated Dagger: Changed casting animation to appear as a throw attack.
*** Audio ***
- Many characters on the Outpost of the Overlord and Queen's Colony have found their voice.
*** User Interface ***
- You will no longer receive emotes from people on your ignore list.
- The (Complete) indicator showing in the quest journal should now be more accurate. This will only show for a quest in which the only thing remaining is to talk to an NPC.
- Comparison tooltips will now appear for spell and combat art upgrades if you have the spell or combat art in your knowledge book.
- The Physical detriment icons under the player's health bar will now show detriment counts.
- Effects that cannot be dispelled will no longer show on the player or group detriment displays.
- Group members will now see a more detailed list of changes instead of "<Group Leader> has changed the group options."
*** UI Files Modified ***

A few nice little changes in there.

This is still on Test, folks, so bear with us, as no telling what, if anything, will change.
Dress clothes - wearable at level 1 by any class, currently don't need attuning. They go in the chest slot, and will cover chest and legs. (We need dress shoes, now!!!) There is one base model used for males, one base model used for females - then ooodles and oodles of primary/secondary color combinations. The recipes start at level 20 tailor, and there's a male/female set every 2 levels.** They automagically appear in your essentials books if you've already scribed the appropriate ones, so no new books need to be purchased. Recipes will need lots of roots and a hide, if things don't change, starting with 8 belladonna, 1 boiled leather, 7 fiber filament in tier 3, and working up to 11 hanging roots, 1 horned pelt, and 10 mythical filament for the tier 7 ones.
(**Males end up in the male version of the clothes, and females in the gown, regardless of if they wear the female-named one, or the male-named one. An example would be at level 24 with "The Young Lad's Thrill" and the "Young Lass' Rouge" - either gender can wear either item and it will look exactly the same on them - shirt/vest/pants for the men, gown for the ladies)
edit: There are also 3 additional items at level 69 (2 gowns, 1 suit), on top of the 0-2-4-6-8 level progressions
I'll get a screenshot or two up later. :)

The sales containers use *rares* .... more details later ...
Ebony salesman's crate = 60 slots, holds pretty much everything but the kitchen sink.
Ebony armor & shield rack = 80 slots, armor and shields

woot ! i love all the new content they are continuously adding. it makes the game even more interesting... AND,,, i was just wondering about how frequently LU's come out? at first i assumed it was monthly but then i heard they do LU's just randomly:confused: anahways this new one looks perrrdy cool, im definately excited !:D
Niami DenMother
06-22-2006, 10:38 PM
LUs used to have a schedule, but they found that meant either rushing or holding back content, based on the depth of the changes. So, they're now "when ready", which means that they can take less/more time depending on the amount of content changes going into them. Hard to tell how much more will go into this LU ... they often roll it onto Test in chunks.

Given the amount of tell-spam I got when I hopped over to Test today, along with all the commentary flying via ICQ/AIM/Yahoo, I'm not the only one who loves "fluff" clothes.
So, here you go, gang ... the new tailored stuff, as it currently looks on Test.
http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/article_page.php?article=g93
As always, it IS on Test, so this means there may be some changes down the road.
Lordebon

Very interesting...
I like the clothes, although I assume at some point they'll make the female version female-only and the male version's male only... I just don't know if they really *can* at the moment. I know the way they restrict it for city-merchant bought stuff is by checking your gender before you buy... not sure if theres a gender tag in game yet (in fact I don't think so).
Lets see... ah broker boxes! Very good, and I actually like the idea of making them rare. Why? Well if they were common, they'd be everywhere almost instantly, instead of being a good upgrade if you're selling that kind of thing. I mean everyone would have the crates made from rosewood and be able to sell massive amounts. Just seems like rare stuff makes sense to me.
On a non-TS note I like the change to racial stealth... I hated how it only lasted 15 mins and had a recast of 30 mins. The duration increase is good, but its really the recast decrease that makes me happy.

Since something on the SoE forums made me think of this, I figure I'd better give my half-asleep explanation of it over here, too.
The way they handle character models right now is ... kludgy. Every base wearable item has to be made in multiple copies, to cover race/gender/size variations. This means getting totally new looks is massively labor-intensive, and not something they want to do for fluff.
They ARE working on the issue, and do plan to do neat things like cloaks and so on. For now, though, reusing things like the clothes worn by merchants/bankers and adding lots of neat new color variations is about all we *should* hope to see until they've changed how the models are done. It isn't a quick process, so stay tuned and be patient ... and watch a lot of us who adore fluff coo and preen over these new clothing sets. {grins}
Rendael "Lloru" Brigh
06-23-2006, 12:13 AM
They have to make sure they do the models correctly.
The female enthralled warriors that attack you on the Reaching Blade HQ still can appear "topless" with large brown circles covering each of "them".
The merchant in the banker building in WW appears to wear lingerie and stockings if looked at the right way.
I assume they were smart this time around and not making the mistake of EQ1's Luclin models that were completely naked on some people's computers due to a OS/software/hardware issue.

Regarding the new casual clothing that MAY be added to the game: They will be placed in the regular tailor recipe books I'm assuming?
Niami DenMother
06-23-2006, 04:18 PM
They'll drop into the regular tailoring books automagically, if you have them scribed already. :)
Same goes for the carpenter rares ... if you've the proper rare books scribed already (I know some of the ebony ones were in adv. carpenter 61), you'll get the recipes automatically.

major question I have on the new containers (which I like, btw) - do runes and essences count as "scrolls" or "potions"? I make a lot of both, and it'd be nice to be able to fit them into one container, if I can't do that then I'll probably just go with the normal boxes.

Runes and Essences *should* be "scrolls" - I would bet internally that they never bothered changing the type from the start of the game when they were all made by the same profession.
Totems will most likely fall in the "miscellaneous" category, and hence "Salesman's" only.

I'm guessing the "Allowed Contents" tag is pretty new. I know the harvesting and collecting bags say they should only allow certain things in them, but they do it anyway. They'll probably change w/ that tag and work that way when the LU hits, if my suspicion is correct.

The harvesting bag I got after LU24 only allows harvestables. So it is in the game currently.
Can't comment on whether it was around in LU23 or before though since I wasn't playing but a few days before LU24. =) Well and the first month of release but my memory doesn't go that far back very well... ;)

Any idea what level exactly these are? Do they all pop in at the same level as the Boxes in each Tier, or are they spread out, or...? Let me know if you can, very handy info indeed!!

Hey, I just noticed that it's a BAG stand which lists Bags (not Containers) as allowed contents. Do strong boxes count as bags for this purpose?
Also, does anyone know how many slots the lower-tier ones have / what the progression is?
Lordebon
06-27-2006, 09:15 AM
I'm assuming by "Bags" its going to allow containers, or otherwise there should be a "Box" stand or something. A lot of carpenters make their money off boxes.
Liandra
06-27-2006, 10:57 AM
The categories listed on the boxes are (more or less) the same ones that you use when searching for items on the broker. When you search for bags it also brings up boxes as well

Oy. I am not one to cry doom and gloom, but this is a pretty stupid one, IMO. I have posted on the SOE thread and asked every other tradeskiller in my guild to do so as well. Normally I try to be supportive of SOE decisions. I realize there are balancing issues. However this is just pure BULL poop!
I hope they will listen to our feedback, but I somehow doubt it. This is one of those asinine decisions that gets pushed through with little thought.
If they are truely concerned about the players who didnt buy DoF there are other more appropriate places to add this content. Mara is a perfect location. Lavastorm would be as well. They could add T6 nodes to one of the instances in the Feerot.
Instead, they plan to take away nodes from T7. T7 does not instance. T7 is already hard enough to get resources from since Barren Sky is basically impossibly to harvest without a pet or duoing due to mob agro. This is the most illogical and frustrating choice they could make, and Moorgards post only served to incite me more with its flippancy.
Niami DenMother
06-28-2006, 01:34 PM
Edit: And, the folks who have been giving feedback on this have been heard. The harvesting change is NOT, I repeat NOT going live.
We discussed this change internally for a while, and we've decided to go ahead and revert it. The original intent was to allow players who own Kingdom of Sky but not Desert of Flames to have somewhere to harvest the level 50-60 nodes, since KoS would allow them to reach level 70. After reading this feedback and considering the change further, it seems that it's simply pissing off the people we were trying to help out, which makes it a bit illogical to keep it this way.
Thanks go to those of you who were able to express your opposition to this change concisely and without flipping out too much. So, once again, we are no longer going to replace level 60-70 harvestable objects with level 50-60 harvestables in Tenebrous Tangle--it will work the same way in Update #25 as it does on Live servers now.
Full details in the thread that was linked above.

It pleases me to no end that both a) They're not doing that and b) They read everyone's feedback and acted on it. Now THATs good customer service =)
EDIT: Seeing as this is no longer going to go live, IMHO these couple posts starting w/ mine should be split from this thread and put into another thread here... less confusing to folks that way, and less clutter for real news.

Is this supposed to be a step toward selling out of your home again? So, if it's in a vendor container that's been placed in your house, people can come buy from you w/o broker fees?
Serenya
06-30-2006, 07:33 PM
Have you determined if you are limited in the number of these new containers corresponding to the number of consignment slots? Or whether they could be used in addition to the slots? I'm finding this a smidge confuzzling just in the reading ;o
kieroth_whiteleaf
06-30-2006, 08:10 PM
Hopefully I don't confuse this worse...
From my interpretation of it, it's SUPPOSED to work like this:
In my house, I have 3 vault slots. That means I get 3 Consignment Slots. I can put bags/boxes in the Consignment slots to sell from.
The NEW "Consignment Containers" (like weapon rack) are just like normal containers except they have significantly more slots, only hold a certain type of thing (weapons) and are displayable as furniture in your room (although it LOOKS like they are still "stored" in the consignment window).
So in the end, if I buy three weapon racks, I place them in my consignment slots, that allows me to display them as placed objects in my room, but I *still* only get three weapons racks total to sell from. Even though they're "placed" in my house, they're still IN the consignment window (and managed there)
Obviously, for most people (even weaponsmiths) ALL weapon racks would be a bad idea, but hopefully you get the idea :)

Due to one of my sisters being in town, I've not done enough follow-up on Test yet. (Thankfully this isn't due to go live until around the 12th!) I'll try to do some poking at it soon.
In the meantime, just a quick head's up on a naming change. From now on, when these go from Test to Live, they'll no longer be LU# (Live Update), but GU (Game Update) ... so this one will become GU25.

What is the drill on these if anyone knows?
The thread talks about Ebony containers - Is a T7 ?!? rare the only wood useable for these by carpenters or are they like other boxes and there are common and rare for EACH tier that vary based on the number of items they can hold?
I may have missed discussion but if it is ONLY ebony that will shut the market down pretty quick, as well as be an expensive burden on lower level players who have no chance of harvesting their own.
Anyone know?

From the eqiiforums (http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=testfeed&message.id=59302#M59302):
Fir specalized holds 48 slots
Oak specalized is 56 slots
Cedar specialized = 64
Ironwood specialized = 72
Ebony specialized = 80
Fir Salesman's Crate = 28
Oak Salesman's Crate = 36
Cedar's = 44
Ironwood = 52
Ebony = 60
They are only available from rare woods. And since fir is normally going for under 10g each these days, anyone can get one. A new player isnt really going to need the bigger boxes for a while and by the time he/she/it does they should be able to easily afford the Fir ones.
