View Full Version : Raw Materials by Tier

Greetings,

I hope I am posting in the correct forum. I've been a recent convert to EQ2 (having played EQ1 years ago) and I jumped right into crafting as the major thing I wanted to do in the game. I remember your website from the EQ1 days, and have once again found it a valuable resource for crafting. Great work!!

One thing I wanted was a listing of all the raw materials by tier, something that could be printed out all on one page. I found one of your tradeskill guides here had what I wanted, but printing it out put it on several pages or it wasn't sized right.

I took the liberty of creating this chart in Excel, and scanning it into a PDF file. Not only for my personal use but for anyone else who might wish to use it. I have given EQ2 Traders Corner due credit as my source of information. And I wanted to let you know about it. If you want to include it somewhere on the website for others to use, you are more then welcome to do so.

If you would rather I did not pass this document out to anyone else, please let me know. I've thought I might offer it to some of my fellow crafting friends on my home server. But before I do so I wanted to let you know about it.

I know I may sound like I'm asking for permission where perhaps none is needed. I just know that some people can be extremely picky about how their information is distributed, about receiving credit, and as I am completely new around here I wanted to be sure. Better safe then sorry. <smiles>

You can find the file on my website here:

Just a quick note to anyone who may have looked at the file earlier, I just updated it to make it easier to distinguish between common and rares.

EDIT: I just realized I have the wrong pelt listed for the T5 common. I will fix that soon and correct it.

I've updated the file with the correction on the T5 pelt, shifted the colors a bit, added a couple more notes, and moved it to a more permanent location on my website. The link above has been edited to point to the right location. I've also added a link from the main portion of my website.

extremely useful file, easy to read and nicely laid out.
I've already printed it and sorted my bank out into tiers by using it :)

like I mentioned to you when we chatted online, sorting the "obsolete" items alphabetically would make it even nicer :)

Thank you Ariadne, if even 1 person finds this chart useful then I am very satisfied.

I went through and sorted the obsoletes into alphabetical order, as well as sorting the food items under shrubs and fish. I also moved things around in the Ore and Stone listings so clusteres are listed first, loams and gems second. Leather pelts are now always listed first, and the meats gained from the dens are in alphabetical order.

But wouldn't you know it... My printer just ran out of ink right when I was printing out the new version to scan it in for PDF. <cries> I'll try to get ahold of a new cartridge ASAP and get the new file posted.

http://www.pdf995.com/pdfedit.html is a free download that installs a pdf writer as if it was a printer. So you go to print and then select pdf995 in the drop down list of printers and it will write a pdf file of your work. I use it all the time as Adobe PDF writer is like £400.
(A nag screen comes up every time but just select "continue using sponsored version")

Hope this helps - and great job on the table btw! :)

Well uhm... That little program would be uber nice... Except when I used it, it removed and deleted my current printer... :( >_<

Well the new file is up and updated and all that jazz! ENJOY!!

Lovely work!

Would you like that hosted over here, Crystallyne, to save you a bit of bandwidth and such? It'd require giving me a solid nudge in a PM whenever you have an edited version,

Thank you Niami! :D

As for your suggestion, I know it would reach a lot more people if you have it here, which is what I would like. I don't use much bandwidth at all over at my website though. I think I will continue to keep a copy on my website for people to download. <ponders> If you would like to just provide a link directly to my website that would be fine. Use http://www.crystallyne.net/eq2.shtml for the link. But if you would like to put a copy here at EQ2 Traders, I can keep you updated whenever I have a new version.

Wow Crystal! Several friends and colleagues use this programme and have not seen any problems. As a matter of course, it will get set as the default printer but your original printer should still be selectable from a drop down in the dialogue box that appears when you hit print.
You should be able to select it where it says printer name.

You can also put your original printer back as the default:
/start/settings/Printers and faxes then right click on your normal printer and select "Set as deafult"

Apologies in advance if you already know and tried this stuff :)

Let me know how you get on with it - I couldn't get by without this programme now, it is sooo useful!

No worries Deathwatch. I went to do a print preview and it said it couldn't find a printer. I checked the dropdown list and that program (and the fax thingy that comes with windows) were the only 2 things listed. I checked my Printers under Settings, and my printer was completely gone. Like it had never been installed. I tried rebooting too and it never showed up.

I was able to get it reinstalled easily enough. I do agree that program is ~very~ useful. I think I'll keep doing it by scanning though. I'm a major perfectionist and I like narrowing the edges down so it's just around the outside border and stuff.

Guess I'm just weird like that. <giggles>

(And besides my pretty printer/scanner/copier toy is still very new, and I like to play with it! lol)

We'll try linking to your site in the guides section of the site. If the load gets to be too much, just let me know and we can host it over here for you. :)
