I was just curious how ranking worked, if you raise up like the main forums after so many posts or reads or if it is just something you changed.
I just noticed I was still a visitor and Grei was a contributor.
Not saying I deserve a rank because I usually am just adding on to what someone else has said but just wondering :)
I think I made the transition from Visitor to Contributor at 50 posts. I'm guessing 100 posts will be yet another level.
Then, if other forums are any indication, it'll be 250 or 500, 500 for certain, 1000, and so on.
Ngreth probably set the names though...but I doubt that anyone who spams the forums trying for levels will last long around here. Ngreth might forget you're wiggling and eat you. :)

Thanks Grei although I don't spam just to get my post count up.
Sometimes I post with nothing major to say other than adding my 2cp to an idea already but I can't stand seeing someone post 2 or more times in a row and being like oh I just want my post count up to blah blah blah
I didn't mean to imply that you have or would, Homeslice. :)
I meant that as a general warning for everyone else who reads the forums. I've seen too many forums where the instant someone catches a hint that they can get a fancier forum rank or title by posting alot, they start spamming. :)

And nope, I will not say what the numbers that go with that are :) We do not stop people from posting their own guesses, but we will not confirm them either.
Well, guess I've got a long ways to go to Artisan then. :) Probably won't ever make it since once EQ2 starts, I probably will be too busy playing to post. ;)
I'll just enjoy being the first Contributor instead...that's enough notoriety for me. :)

with this few people it will be a while before any of us make artisan :P so i guess for now we are just a bunch of posers :/

It isn't the number of people that matter so much as the amount of information there is to discuss. When we've got more to talk about, people will post more...when we've got less to talk about, people will post less.
In the time since I first stumbled on these forums, the number of members have doubled. It really jumped up when Ngreth started his polls. But there was no increase in posts during that time...only getting about 3-6 new posts on here a day.

We need that darn magazine to come out so we have some info!
Well, the next month's gaming magazines are starting to show up. What we really need is to know _which_ magazine(s) we need to be camping so we can get them as they spawn. :)

Arrrrr mateys bring on the magazine ;)
Woah, what a thing to wake up to. :) I see Ngreth has made me Infamous all across the boards instead of just in this thread. :)

wow, we really dont have much to talk about :/
... nice title............
/camp EQ2 spawn
Well, aside from talking about the forums in general on things such as the ranks, or rehashing what little we know, or creating polls to find out what we all think about things. :)
Still, it keeps people reading the forums so when Ngreth does end up stumbling on a big batch of information, we'll have alot of people to discuss it with. :) Or whenever the big magazine release hits--if it hits (I thought I saw something about one of the magazines changing their minds about something, but that might've been something unrelated), we'll all have something to chew on. :)
BTW, thanks on the title. Guess we'll see sooner or later on whether I'm stuck with it for life (which won't bother me none if I am--it's mainly a curiousity thing)

Yeah I will be glad when we have more to talk about myself :)
Although I do have a new title myself :)
Nothing as cool as yours though but I feel I am more than just a visitor now :D
Congrats on Contributor, Homeslice. :)
Just think, if my title is permanent, then you stand a good chance of being the first Hobbyist. ;)

Maybe but then that also means me doing a lot of posts :)
I just need more info to do this, all this speculation kind of runs out of steam once you have all the speculations speculated ;)

Yes, we're running out of steam on the speculations. I quit posting replies because I realized that I was starting to try to convert everyone over to my views instead of encouraging different viewpoints. I keep hoping someone new shows up with new ideas to touch off the discussion in those threads again. :)
I suspect the info will show up soon though. Wish I knew what was on the CC discs to know if there was any crafting tidbits tucked inside. I'm sure sooner or later an Artisan will get their hands on the disc and start talking about it--but until then, I don't think some of these Adventurer people really care about how Artisan works, as long as we can make stuff for them. ;)
But until then, and until the game goes Live at the very least, I plan on hanging around here and try to spark discussions and debates and truly earn my Infamy. ;)

The title sticks unless I remove it or change it. :) And well, my memory for tasks to do can never be said to be great :) If you want it removed let me know. I jsut thought your comment was funny so made it a title :D
By the Way. You qualify for Hobbyist :)

Thanks Ngreth. I think I'll keep The Infamous Contributor Grei. :) Don't have to worry about whether my rank will change now and it's rather unique. ;)
And for those who didn't follow the movie quote at all (and didn't bother to search IMDB for Dread Pirates or Wesley), it's from The Princess Bride, a very good movie IMHO. :)

The Infamous Immortal Grei

I am sad to report that I have been unable to find any artisan info on the CC disk. There is a cool Lore piece that records some of the gods' initial conversation about going silent, and there is the entire E3/Journey of Heroes video, the cinematic trailer coupled with a short piece about the making of EQII, and of course the character creation stuff, but no new artisan info. :(
Sorry I don't have a better report for everyone.
Edit: There are also MP3's of the EQII theme, the Qeynos theme, the Freeport theme, and the Blackburrow theme. The music sounds awesome!
I will also say this -- the character customizations are everything we've been led to expect. I can't wait to see what Ngreth and some of the other ogre fans come up with, not to mention the trolls out there. Some really scary stuff just from randomizing. Expect a new half-elf avatar from me this evening! :)
Awwwww....darn. :(
I was so hoping that the CC goodies would be including crafting stuff...which would've been another reason to delay them until the beginning of next month now that we know that the Froggies weren't the reason.
Oh well, back to camping the magazine racks...spawn, spawn, spawn...

Congrats to Homeslice for being EQ2TC's first Hobbyist. :)

Thank thank you
I would like to thank Ngreth for this honor as well as The Infamous Contributor Grei for starting me off with stuff to post about
I would like to thank all my family and friends without them i wouldn't have the energy or desire to achieve such greatness and also I would like to thank the little people for allowling to perform for them
You all think that was too much? ;)
Maybe we should put you down in the History as 'The Not So Humble Hobbyist Homeslice'. ;)

Heh. As with our "other" forums, you never know when or if a custom title will be snuck in on someone. Ogre naming conventions can be quite interesting at times, too as one "windy head persun" (enchanter) found out. ;)

Somehow I missed this thread the first time through the forum. You guys are hilarious. Keep up the Princess Bride quotes. I force people to watch that movie whenever I find out they have never seen it. And as for getting more people I stumbled across this when it was linked on the EQTraders homepage for the interview. Hopefully when they get the second interview we will get more people with good ideas.
