So anyone know if damaged pelts are used in tradeskills? I was away for a couple months and no way did I read all those patch notes. :)

They've added in a whole lot of substitute items as mob drops instead of body parts and what not. So the short answer is yes, you can use them. If you right-click and examine them, they usually have a pretty good description of their use.

These have no description other than the colored bold letters UNCOMMON. Then again regular harvested pelts do not have any description.
They don't lub us tailors enough I guess. http://mysite.verizon.net/snoclown/smilies/jason%27s/tired.gif

I'm pretty sure damaged pelts are usable. Pelts have a pattern to their naming. They are all named (a) *condition* *quality* *animal name* pelt
Condition denotes the source, if dropped, harvested, otherwise. If there is no condition stated, then is is usually a rare.
Quality denotes the tier.
Animal Name just identifies the animal it came from. This is generally irrelevent to the recipe unless it specifies that particular animal. I dont know of one off hand but you never know
For Example: a damaged high quality bear pelt drops off bears in Enchanted Lands. This name indicates it is a dropped T4 pelt.
Tier Qualities:
T1 Low
T2 Average
T3 Medium
T4 High
T5 Superb
T6 Excellent
T7 Horned/DragonHide
Conditions:
Sullied-Harvest
Damaged-Looted
Unqualified-Rare

They used to work in tradeskilling. For at least a while, they were broken and didn't work. Dunno if they're fixed or still broke. I just sell them since I can buy 20 harvested pelts for what a vendor gives me for a damaged one.

I sell my damaged and (if necessary) buy sullied.

I didn't note down which tier pelt (3 I think) but looks like some are still broken and can't be used in recipes. I feeling it won't get touched until after the revamp.
