Deer Pasta, Outfitter quest

Ok, #1, I got a request for 10 deer pasta in the Outfitter society (odd, no?)

Requires:

Deer steak (ok, I assume we can get deer meat somehow, killed a 100, no deer meat)
Basil (not raw basil, which I can find)
Pasta (no recipe)

I am really hurting on this!
Can buy the ingredients at 36c a pop, so over 1sp each (at the wholesaler), but the completed combine sells back at about 25c, so its a huge loss to buy these items. Further, the combine is HORRIBLE, made 3 outta 10 to the savory level (2nd level).

Wasted my 10silver, trying to make some coin and try again, but the big point is -
How do you make basil from raw basil
How do you MAKE pasta
What/where can you get deer meat - different deer? Oakmyst? Antonica

Hi!

You make basil from raw basil by using the recipe "refine basil" ... erm... which appears to be missing from the books I have listed on my spreadsheet.. This *may* be a missing recipe as tier 1 foods weren't put in until very late in beta. I'm not actually in game yet so I can't check for myself, but that's the basic premise - use raw herb, water, fuel to refine the herb.

pasta USED to be vendor sold, but I suspect its one of those items that will be sold as the wholesaler gains in levels, so probably not at the beginning.

Yes, deer meat will drop from the deer in antonica or forest ruins or oakmyst.

persevere with it if you can, I know the sellback rate is awful, but once you've made all 10, the quest giver will give you NICE cash back.. or at least they did in beta (got over 1g for 10xlevel 25 recipes)

Raw basil is not on any of my books, fyi, so I am voting for missing :(

Problem - all 3 sell for 36copper, but I priced selling a deer pasta back, it was 25c. Which is scaring me (i.e if i make all 10, will i get 250copper from the wholesaler, but it cost me 1080 copper, and lose 7 precious silver?)

Aye, once every day or so (not sure on the time, it is over a few hours).

I can delete, yes, was just wondering how others might fill it.

Also, is it not odd that the outfitter did not ask for outfitting gear - maybe they were hungry!!

Please make sure to /bug that as an outfitter, you were getting cooking quests, but I *suspect* it's because you weren't high enough level in outfitter to have finished products that were class specific (mostly refines and interims), so it just snagged a high-level artisan recipe.

I believe deer should be in the harvest table for tier 1, but got missed. (It should be akin to the meats harvested from dens for tier 2 and tier 3, but it didn't get added.) I put in a /bug at the end of beta on it.

Refine basil being missing has been /bugged both in beta and live.

As an FYI, on top of there being a limit to asking to replace a tradeskill quest, you lose a status point. (I finally figured out how I ended up with 599 status points! I asked to replace one of my tin harvesting tasks, as I was getting tired of the greedy brute eating all my tin and leaving none for me!

I saw Basil on a vendor today, had to be a freeport vendor, thats the only place I have been.

You can buy basil in some of the higher level societies. I believe if its not in your society then you have to complete tasks to get yours to a level where your vendor will sell this stuff. That is why people in hte same tradeskill societies should be working together to get their societies levels up. This is still a theory on my part though

both basil and pasta are available in the basic wholesaler.

raw basil still can't be refined, its bugged.

Where is the deer pasta recipe? I can't find it and I have this same quest :(
