Well i decided to help jump start some conversation in here and start a thread for everyone who plans on playing a crafter in EQ2.

You can give a brief intro/bio and what race and adventurer class you plan to play.

I am Karikaru, as I am commonly known on the internet. I have played Several orpgs including Faldon (old school free orpg, still around today), EQ1: played several years on various servers mostly on Tallon Zek, AO: cousin conviced me to buy it, but after a month or two i decided it wasnt for me, SWG: had several chars on here on chilastra and test center, I had a chef, a master artisan/aspiring tailor, and a fencer and a carbineer. Plus I have played tons of RTS's and FPS's over the years aswell.
So this is what I am planning on for EQ2

Race: Barbarian
Adventurer Class: Gaurdian
City: Qeynos

Qeynos has always been my home for almost all of my past characters so I cant wait to see how it has changed :)

Well as my plan goes now I will be a Halfling/Troubadour/Tailor

I am kind of tossed on tailor and armorsmith at the moment but will definitely be going along the lines of outfitter.

I am a pretty social person and enjoy interacting with others.

Bard was the closest thing to any kind of entertainer and I just liked the combo I have on SWG as a Tailor/Musician on the Scylla server. I am now dropping tailor though to go a pure entertainer before leaving there to come to EQ 2. :)

Well I think outfitter is going to be oversaturated, but its the way I'm going to go. Rather I end up forging armor or weapons, or even tailoring is still up in the air. More than likely I'll be playing a barbarian cleric/outfitter, but after playing with the CC disk I might be going with a different race. Who knows, release is still so far away.

Half Elf Dirge Alchemist, from Qeynos.

Just sounds like fun to me, don't care about stats. I will have an alt, Dark Elf Summoner Provider from Freeport.

This could all change of course, but for now those are the combos I find most appealing. :)

Moonshade

Moonshade, Half-Elf Woodworker Ranger

I'll probably have an alt or 2 that are Artisan-only players as a Sage or Alchemist, not sure yet.

I currently play EQ on Tunare server as a Halfling Ranger, and Var Shir Beastlord. I was playing ATITD as well, but that got a bit tedious, plus I felt the need to kill things now and then and couldn't! Except for slaughtering my sheep now and then <evil grin>

HeartFang
08-21-2004, 02:55 PM
Heartfang, Gnome Provisioner Sorcerer located in Qeynos.

Play EQL as a barbarian Warrior that is into most tradeskills at least a little on E. Marr.
I have played all RPG's as Heartfang or Heart...
I haven't really played all that many different MMOPG's. Tried to play SWG, but never got into it enough to play after more than a month. Played mny FPS's, but they get old fast.

I love cooking and will hopefully be able to maintain a full time baker and not have to go into the adventuring side of the game for a long time.

Many of us felt that way about SWG after the first few months when nothing was near it should have been...

But I personally think that EQ2 will be... can't wait till tomarrow!

Benbu Bumblefoot
Halfling Ranger
Artisan of some sort, yes. Since they took away 1/2 of the 'scrolls' from Sages, I'm thinking I'll not go that route. Still might be a weaponsmith, or jeweler, or a tailor/carpenter of some sort (boxes and bags are useful!)
Just not sure yet!

Benbu

Edit: Gonna be playing on the Mistmoore server

Not sure why this ended up in the Armorer forum, when it's directed at all crafters, so moving it to the Artisan forum and a wider audience. ;)

OK...

I'll have four characters, all on Najena:

Human Ranger/Woodworker
Erudite Shadowknight/Weaponsmith
Dark Elf Cleric/Craftsman

Those are in order of time played, most likely (as it stands right now, at any rate).

Sig says it all. But recently added a couple alts:

Sittin (Bull)
Wood Elf Scout--Bard--Carpenter
Klyve
Barbarian Fighter--Guardian--Unknown (maybe weaponsmith)

NerissaGoldenrose
12-07-2004, 08:18 AM
At the moment, I'm:

Nerissa - 15 human bard (undecided) / 14 outfitter, planning on tailor

Aalinai - 14 high elf enchanter (illusionist) / 10 scholar, undecided on specialty but probably either sage or jeweler. I can't decide whether spell upgrades for or backpack buckles are going to be the way to go here.

Pakul - 11 barbarian crusader (paladin) / 3 artisan, will probably end up either an alchemist or a craftsman of some nature, depending on what the husband and roommate do with their characters -- we don't need 2 alchemists, but we certainly do need one.

Calling any one toon my "main" is a bit premature... I adventure Aalinai with my husband and roommate, Pakul with my husband but not my roommate, and Nerissa when I'm playing alone and need a break from trade skills. I craft with both Nerissa and Aalinai, depending on which "needs" to get to a certain level the most (my husband recently got to the point where he needs tier 2 tempers & washes, so having a level 10 scholar became a priority) or as the whim strikes me.

My current plan is to get the outfitter to 15 for tanned backpacks (probably tonight or tomorrow), the scholar to 19 to cover all tier 2 stuff (will be a bit longer), then worry about the 3rd toon's trade skill after that. By then, I ought to know what's going to be needed in our group.

Korin

Here are mine :

Flashwave - Kerran 21 Paladin/19 Outfitter heading towards armorer
Lemniscate - Wood elf 8 Scout/11 Craftsman heading for either woodworker or carpenter depending on what is more useful
Koryn - High elf 8 priest/5 artisan - probably going to be a scholar then an alchemist
Wavefront - Barbarian 8 fighter/3 artisan - Undecided
Edgewise - Kerran 6 scout/3 artisan - undecided
Korin - Dark elf 6 mage/3 artisan - undecided

Im about to ding level 20 with my outfitter, since I am way ahead of my guild on crafting I'll probably be better off making my own washes/tempers and patterns so thats probably where my alts are headed.

Shjekai

Vech 18th Predator / 19th Outfitter -> tailor ( Runnyeye )
Shjekai 10th Summoner / 15th Scholar -> alchemist
Zephys 15th Druid / 10th Craftsman -> provisioner
(Future 4th tradeskiller )

I kinda like tradeskills :) When I figure out what I am doing with my 4th char slot I will be using my wifes chars to level 4 other crafters. Formerly 252 smith from EQ 1 (Luclin) owner of 2 shawls.
