I know we have alot of pricing posts and that various things can affect the prices u charge but i was just wondering what sort of prices you charge for App IV spells at T3 as they seem to cost alot to make I have beenpricing mine at 2g.
Any feedback would be great. :)

2g seems like a lot. especially for t3. When my Jeweler/Alchy were doing T3 spells I had to price them around 60-75s if i wanted to sell any. Even then it was very difficult to sell the spells for freeport classes. T4 i am lucky to get 1.5g per spell.
You would probably be better pricing the spells on an individual basis. Check each spell you make for current prices on your server. Don't forget to check the adept 1 prices too. It is no good selling an app4 spell for 2g if the adept1 sells for <1g.

Yeah that does seem to be the case just abit of a struggle to make any sort of profit. I have priced based on whats currently on the broker and have got 2g for most lvl 20 class spells as the adepts are few in supply.

I quit even putting T3 spells up for sale when they weren't selling at 20sp. If you want to make any money as a Sage the best way to do it is to advertise for special orders, by LFW in the crafter and trader channels.
Or you can do a TON of market research and make Adept III's of spells you know are important to various classes.
Conjurer Pet and pet buffs
Templar Reactive Heals
Mystic Wards
I only know those because they are the people I group with every night and have asked me to make ADEPT III's for them. Probably every class has 1-2 spells which an Adept III will sell like hotcakes, but I don't know them all myself. I've just run my Sage up to make sure I can make all my own and my guilds spells and to do a few writs, and I've made a few special orders for desperate people in the crafter/traders channel, but I work for donation for them.
On a side note if your going to really try and be a "Premo" LFW Sage, then you need to be able to make the rare inks yourself (Advanced Apoth Books or alchemist alt), so that you can provide "one stop shopping" to your customers. And have the quills/worts/paper done ahead of time so you can make spells in just a couple minutes. People appreciate speedy service.

T3 Scout Runes I've been selling at 50s unless there's significant enough competition that I can't get that price for the item (such as an adept flood). If I can't get at least 20s for it because of adepts and such then I just vendor it.
Little different than spells, but it probably follows the same basic rule.

If there are adepts for the spells listed less than 1g I just use it for pristine xp and then sell to merchant. Otherwise I have a flat price of 60s for all T3 spells. I know I could probably make more on some of the ones with very rare adepts, and indeed some people buy them up to resell higher, but I then simply make some more at 60s. I have seen some people listing them at under 10s, and even adept 1s and under 10s due to competition.

I think tbh the only way to even make a profit as a sage is to take orders by LFW i have had several responses from the LFW but never any work lol.
Also just a quick question but do u all make your own inks or do you buy them from the broker? If you buy them how much do you typically pay for pristine carbon ink? The inks are going for 1g on my server  I know their a real pain in the ass to make but 1g per ink!! Think i will have to start making my own soon.

Making your own is probably the best idea. The quantity you need them in will give you some pretty good xp too. I actually started an alchy alt back before the dependencies were scrapped to make my inks/WORTs. Just making them is enough to keep my alchy up at about the same lvl as my jeweller main.

yeh i was concidering doing the same as to make pristine inks with my sage seems really tough and would prob be much easier and much faster if i had an alch alt. Hummm think i will be doing some serious Alt tradeskilling later on :)

Inks suck whether you are an alchemist or a Sage using recipes from an Apoth book. Inks just plain suck for everyone. I'd suggest just making your own Inks/Paper/Quills because one of hte things a Sage has to deal with is that it is tough to skill up on spells without going through ALOT of inks, so the more EXP you can get off of things other than inks the better.
Also the ole LFW is a great way to get EXP. Even level "pristine" Adept III discovery is worth almost 5% when I do one. I usually do my work for "costs + donation", because the "free" EXP is worth it to me. hehe

Thats true and with the apoth books now it just seems that sages can make the inks but it seems easier to create them using chem not thum hence an alch alt would be a good idea still even though inks are still a royal pain in the ass ;)

I have a tradeskiller in every class that's part of the "food chain" - patterns are the only thing I don't have a "native" tradeskiller for (My woodworker took weaving just for patterns). My alchemist makes pretty much exclusively inks/worts/extracts unless a guildie commissions me for something else and he's currently only behind my jeweler in XP (who I've been grinding a LOT lately). Although his XP is starting to fall off a bit, both my tailor and woodworker have some catching up to do as well so I don't see any problem getting him to the next tier without even having to do much in the way of essences, much less poisons.
Ink is pretty good XP, even if it's annoying to make.

Yeah thats true i found making inks to be great xp when i was a scholar but still was easier to just make WORT's

Going on the adept3's that sell best for classes, as a Warden i think that the big patch heal of each tier would sell best, all i know is first rare gem/soft metal for T5 i get is going towards my main heal (verdant something, level 46 i believe if you look up in your recipies) but for app4, i went straight to adept for this one since it's important and the extra cost didn't bother me too much, dont think there was an app4 option available anyway, you slackers. After main heal, i'm going for my nuke because im a solo warden and i need my dps, but you'll get different views on what we need due to people's play style.
but still the main patch heal is most important spell of the tier to get to adept3 quality
