pulpy tapa paper (legendary)
anyone know what this is used for? i got it using timbercraft to create tapa paper, i cant remember seeing any specail buff name either.
i cant find anything in my books that requires it either. Also i did several searches on google finding no matchs. there was one site but it had been taken down.

My guess is that it has the same uses as a Dandelion Fiber or the root rare from Tier 3. I think these are used in paintings and rugs, so if you don't make those items then you probably don't have a recipe for it.
And wow you got a rare from the new cross disciplinary skills/spells - thats the first I've heard of it. gratz!

I thought the pulpy papers were the result of completely failing a combine after having reached at least crude first. I was working my timbercraft skill up from very low using a tier 5 combine. After failing, I had pulpy stromeir paper in my inventory and it had used up all the components from the combine. For some other recipes, when you fail, it returns an item that can be reused in the same recipes that the original primary component can be used in. In this case, I was using severed teak, so I should have been able to use the pulpy paper wherever teak could be used, but I couldn't find a recipe it would work in. I ended up destroying it.

I thought this was the case too, but I haven't received one, and I haven't had the ultra-rare event. Turns out this post wasn't very useful after all... :(

Well the fact that the item says LEGENDARY is an indication that it is taking the place of a rare, but that could be a typo on the item. Sounds like Mithas could be right about it being from a complete failure.

I have found that the labels such as Legendary, Handcrafted, etc. don't always fit exactly. It seems that in some cases there wasn't a good label, so they just picked something else. E.g., I received a chunk of timber as a drop from a treant and it was labelled Handcrafted.

that chunk of timber can be used in place of common lumber for that tier.

I got a pulpy tapa paper too and its not a result of a missed item at all. I received it after completing a rare event while i was crafting a standard tapa paper.

I really hope I am right, but after reading some of the other posts, I have a feeling I am wrong and I destroyed a rare tier 5 root replacement. Sigh. Well, If I ever get another, I will be sure to test it in a rare recipe. Though I do have to question why the rewarded rare is an item like that instead of the "normal" rare that is rewarded to other classes, and why timbercraft would get a root rare instead of a wood rare.

Like some of you today I got this item. It was the resoult of a complete failure as I started to train my woodcraft skill. I only managed to make the first stage of the paper and in my backpack instead appear CRUDE tapa paper it appeared this item.
I am carpenter and in none of my advanced books weaving or carpenter appears any legendary item where I can use this paper.
For fir lumber I need Fir and for Ruckas thread I need dandelion or ruckas. So is not a substitute of wood and roots.
I guess is a bug and the paper is wrong named. Should be Crude.
