View Full Version : TS ability descriptions from Beta

I've made a table containing the descriptions of each of the Artisan abilities from the end of Beta. I can't easily copy it here because it is in table format and has illustrations of the icons.

Would anyone be interested in something like that? How would I submit it? I intend to use it to quickly reorganize my knowledge book and match the skills to the various recipies. (Due to a number of factors I couldn't try the revamped TS system during the last few days of Beta so all I could put in is the descriptions from the game-- I have little information on how they work in practice.)

if you can, post a link to it here, or send me a pm and we'll figure it out

No way to link to it unfortunately: I have no website to post it on. I have sent you a PM, maybe I can get it to you that way.

just out of curiousity, is this similar to my post

reactions have names (http://www.mboards.eqtraders.com/eq2/showthread.php?t=360)

I could probably host a file for you, I have a website :) (and an EQ2 page ready to go)

Ariadne's Family Website (http://www.paine-family.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Hobbies/Everquest.htm)

This is a link to the EQ page - although if you click on "paine-family", you can see the rest of it (pretty boring really!)

I have a website too. not as fancy (hey, you need to update your son's picture!) but it works

I'll let Mebrhea take a look at it and see if it's something we should work on reformatting for the site and/or merging with what Ariadne's done, etc., etc.

Thanks for thinking of us!

Ariadne,

Your list is similar to mine, very nice! The difference is that mine only has the skills for 10-60 (I got tired after that) but it does have the desciptions of what each one is supposed to do.

I've emailed it to Mebrhea.

it's up - TS abilities (http://www3.telus.net/krttech/eq2/EQTSabilities.htm)

the margins are a little screwy, but you can see what it is.

Thanks for posting that for me!

Very strange, what happened to the margins. If you want to be able to see the icons, if you are using the IE browser, choose "edit with Microsoft Word for Windows" and change the alignment of the table from flush left to centered and it should move the table over so you can see it properly.

I tired changing alignment, that didn't work for me. Instead I had to change the view in the menu from "Web Layout" to "Print Layout" and I could see everything. Might have to do with which version of Word you've got installed as to which method will work.

To fix the table, open in MS Word, right click the table, choose "table properties", Under Alignment on the right side there is "Indent From Left" CHange that from -0.55 to 0.5

Just to add one other observation-- I did have screenshots of a few of the higher level abilities, just ran out of interest in putting them in. Part of the reason for that is that for each ability that has the same icon, it has the same effect description in terms of what it counters and its affect on progress, power, etc. The only differences were stated power costs.

Um. I may just be overtired, but I'm running into a bit of a brain-twister here, and am still pondering how to handle it as I work on reformatting the guide to put it up on the site.

I think I'm going to end up removing the "skill level required" column, because it's misleading and does NOT pertain to artisan level, but rather to your base skill in that particular ability (such as arcana).

You get all of these while still an artisan. At level 10, you then get a few new versions of some of them based on which profession you are following (complete with the increased power listings mentioned in a post above). You don't get the full set upgraded, just the ones that pertain to your craft. At level 20, you get another set, that pertain just to your sub-profession.

So, the ones on this table are "common" to everyone, regardless of level, then the pro's get higher versions of them as they go along. :)

I'm not sure yet how we'll address the higher versions of them without utterly confusing everyone who tries to follow the table, but will keep percolating as I work on it.

How about instead of "level" put in class... since that is when you get them (isn't it) and add level to the 4th rank ones...
