leather gear to match X

I have a level 19 outfitter, and was wondering if I could get some input on clothing appearance.

At level 10, a druid gets a class chess piece with their quest. It has a glossy black leather appearance. I was curious if I could craft a match set to complement that chest piece. Without actually making everything, I don't know how to match the appearances...

I know the look you mean, my brawler is wearing the same look. The "good quested armour look" is the same as the rare dropped armour look for the same tier (the cured). I don't know what the rare crafted looks like for T2, but I can tell you that theres not a corrosponding look among the T2 common crafted armours. My brawler is wearing the quested pants from the clothespinners in NQ, which are a nice pair of pants statwise, but they don't really match the tunic.

If you could find a pair of the cured dropped pants, I'm pretty sure those would match, however. The crafted rare would be a big maybe.

The glossy black leather look is nice, but eesh... putting together all the rare crafted items would be a pain. I've heard imbuing changes appearance as well, is that true?

Imbuing makes no change in appearance that I'm aware of - cured is made from average unsullied, which, at least on my server, is usually pretty cheap to find on the broker.
