I'm still kinda new to the whole "message board" mode of communication. How do people quote other people's posts? Here I've seen it done where the other person's posts are kind of on a gray background. Over at EQII boards I've seen other's quotes marked as such, indented, and set off by lines above and below. Are there automated ways to do this? I've been just using Windows Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V.
Thanks in advance! :)
***EDIT***
Forgive my stupidity, I just saw the big fat "Quote" button in the lower-right corner. This comes from viewing the boards at work, where I have to keep the window kind of small, due to a requirement for "discretion".

Usually you just hit the fancy 'Quote' button (here, it's at the bottom of each post in a thread, on the official EQ2 forums, it's in the upper righthand corner after you choose which post to reply to) but that doesn't work for cross-thread posting (which can sometimes be a no-no anyway).
For the fancier quotes (i.e. from another thread or even another forum altogether), it's good ol' cut and paste along with using the appropriate quote tags, which could be HTML or UBB or something entirely unique to that forum.
Hope this helps. :)

Edit of my own (since I don't want to add to my post count on something silly and it is totally offtopic from my other posts): Just noticed I'm catching up on Ngreth for total posts...wonder if I get a cookie when I pass him up. ;)

*coughs* Really?

Well, since there's been no cookies, I've been keeping my post counts down to about what Ngreth is posting. Just to make him feel better. ;)
Seriously though, so far there haven't been alot of posts that I felt I needed to chime in on (lots of posts though--glad to see things are picking up). And I so hate posting minimal messages without any real content to them. :)

And Grei... post as often as you want as long as you are not padding, :) It does not bother me to be over posted. I don't comment on every thread either :) Sometimes it tends to inhibit people (sometimes it makes them talk more) when I post in a thread. But generally, I only post when I have something to say. Especially with my poor spelling and typing.
