View Full Version : ATTN Admins: Recipe Errors

I would like to start off by saying how much I truly rely on EQ2Traders. It makes crafting so much easier to be able to look up recipe lists for all my crafting.

However, it pains me that many of your recipe lists are incorrect, some horribly so. Iron Chainmail Leggings (http://eq2.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=4614&menustr=035000000000), for example, says that you need to make an iron battle hammer as part of the recipe, when in fact it asks for a generic burlap pattern. I just disovered this, after already purchasing sufficient iron and maple for this craft.

Of course, I will still find a way to use up all the materials that I purchased, but this is not the first time that the recipe lists have led me astray.

Could a link be made on the main page to report bad recipes? It would help us all out a lot, so that one crafter wouldn't have to suffer a mistake that another had already experienced.

Other examples:
Cailun Paper (http://eq2.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=3689&menustr=035000000000) actually requires abrasive sandpaper, not cedar incense (a recent change, I believe)
Generic Burlap Pattern (http://eq2.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=3277&menustr=035000000000) asks for two thread filaments, in addition to the other items, not just one.

Please just post them in the database updates forum, and we'll fix 'em =)

We get no inside information from SOE, and all our recipes are added by hand by Mum, Ngreth, and volunteers like myself. We enter what we see in the updates forum, and what we painstakingly glean from the game itself =)

Also, I've corrected the things you've pointed out.

I'm wondering about this thread. If the changes was due to the addition of the independent tradeskills of Apothecary, Geomancy, Timbercraft, and Weaving. These can make the same items, but require slightly different or more of the same ingredients. I'll have to do some research.

The "Generic Burlap Pattern" one was probably due to one of the 4 new cross class skills.

The rest look like recipe errors in game or in our DB that were either corrected in game, needing a fix to our DB to coincide with the fix in game, or just plain an error in our DB :)

Yep... patterns made with Weaving skill take 2 thread, those done with Tailoring take 1.

Yet another complexity to add to the mix.

Perhaps just note that the "secondary" crafting skills require double fuel for interims and leave it at that. Just list the fuel requirements for "primary" recipes in the DB?

Because the game treats each variation of the recipe as a unique item, we do, too, so instead of notes for the cross-skill versions of these, we'll have separate entries. Of course, that will confuse folks, too, if they don't look closely at the recipe to see which technique/knowledge it's using.
