When I see a negative post about the work put into this site sometimes I just have to shake my head. It strikes me as very similar to my homeowners association board. I have been a board member for 7 years now, treasurer for 2.5 of those and organizer of our annual meetings for 5 of the 7. Whenever someone does not like something we are doing, we invite them to be a part of the solution and start chipping in instead of just complaining. To this day, we have had 2 people out of the 200 homes do so. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Anyway, before I got side tracked there what I wanted to say was thank you. To you Ngreth, Denmum, Inyidd, Zendaken, Ariadne, Moonshade, Wolfysins, Krazick, Eileah, Votary, Flendon, Drucilla, Yawp and all the others whose hard work goes into the site but who are not as visible to those of us on the outside. I don't often manage to contribute, mostly due to RL concerns, but I still greatly appreciate the time, etc that you spend on the site. I hope to finally manage to meet you all in person at Fan Faire, if you plan on making it to Vegas this time. First round is on me. =)

If anyone wishes to volunteer to help send me a PM with login name you want (it can be the same as your board name), and a password (please do not make it the same as your board login, please make it at least 10 characters, please mix letters and numbers)

And actually, the first five people that want to send me this information I will be happy to give access to entering in data I limit it to five because we only want so many new database people at a time, because it takes some evaluation. I also re-ask anew even though I usually get more volunteers each time than I can take, so that I am sure the people that ask again are interested

And though the forms are better, and the site coding is better than the coding on the old site, due to the nature of tradeskills in EQ2 it is much harder to enter recipes, and takes up to 4 times as long per recipe entered as it does in the EQ1 site, just because of the complexity of tradeskills in EQ2.

This is NOT the most interesting work in the world, you are not paid for it. You are allowed a custom title though :)

Part of my test to entry for people is following instructions, as it is very important for getting data entered properly, so read this carefully :)

Thanks for the warm fuzzies, Dibbler. :) By the time the Fan Faire hits, with all the tradeskill changes going on in both games, I'm going to need that first round ... and a second ... and a third. ;)

I agree , thank you all that have volunteered for this site. Without you a lot of us would be lost in tradeskills.

I volunteered for two basic reasons. first, EQTC helped me out quite a bit in EQ1. Actually, it was Casters Realm that had the first jewelcrafting chart I used for a long time, but when I moved onto other tradeskills, EQTC was the best (and many times, only) information source. I wanted to give something back to that process.

But there's also a more selfish aspect. The recipe lookup page gives you a nice chart of EVERYTHING required to make a particular item. The thing is, none of the carpenter recipes were there. So I'm selfishly adding carpenter recipes so I can have a nice chart of the needed combines.

Pure selfishness.

And I want to say thanks to the Four new people who volunteered :)!

Thanks!

Well, taking some pause time between 2 recipes list update after LU24 to say thanks again for your hard work, but I didn't expected this after digging a bit on my newly revamped recipe list :

For an ogre, that is quite funny :)

Beghn is the tradeskill dev right now - Ngreth is the house Ogre. Did you get the two of them mixed up?

Though it's interesting to see game names showing up in game like this.

The trail mix was one of the recipes added by Frizznik last year during his stint as a tradeskill dev (though the stats, etc. were changed with LU24). The House Ogre has nothing to do with EQ2 (other than playing it with me when time allows)... nowww, there may be some tie between the ogre and the "Niami's Trail Mix" that you see over in EQ, but that's another game entirely. :)
