I'm not a tester due to time constraints, and I'm sorry if this isn't the forum for me to post in .. just let me know .. but I had a question for those on test ..
What techniques do the items in the apothecary, weaving, timbercraft, and geomancy books use? They say that these skills will automatically gain 5 points per level, which makes me think that they're the "knowledge" in the recipies and not the techniques.
For example (on live), Inks use 'Alchemy' knowledge and 'chemistry' technique. Where the technique helps to determine your success chance, and the knowledge helps to determine the buffs you use.
Are the new inks 'Apothecary' knowledge and 'chemistry' technique?
If this is true, it would mean that while any class could make the inks, an alchemist would have a better chance at making prisitine .. especially for the higher tier inks. They would also be able to make WORTs more efficiently. So the markets might not be totally blown for Alchemists. I'm not sure how many other items are required as primary ingredient that aren't made by the crafter who makes the final ingredient.
