Harvesting in Tier 2 (Antonica, Commonlands), is relatively easy, requiring harvesting skills in the 20+ range in order to scrounge from the nodes. Tier 3 (Thundering Steppes, Nektulos Forest), while much more dangerous for the low-level adventurer/high-level crafter, is likewise "relatively" easy, requiring harvesting skills of 90+. Tier 4 and Tier 5, however are a bit trickier.

As with other tiers, there are skill requirements to harvest in tier 4 (140+), but there are also requirements to even enter the zones. Both the Enchanted Lands and Zek, the Orcish Wastes have access quests that can be started when you are a level 25 adventurer. If you wish to avoid these quests, or harvest before you have gained that many adventuring levels, the zones are open to anyone who has attained either 32 adventuring or 32 tradeskill levels. Once you have fulfilled either requirement, bells to these zones will become accessible. (Zek bell activates on the Thundering Steppes Docks, Enchanted Lands activates on the Nektulos Forest docks). Single-use travel tickets from Qeynos Harbor and East(?) Freeport can also be purchased, for a price, once you've met the requirements.

Access and harvesting in tier 5 zones can become confusing, quickly. Unlike tiers 2-4, there are three zones, instead of two, and each one is a bit different regarding access. All three zones (Rivervale, Everfrost, Feerrott), require 190+ harvesting skills, but that's where the similarity ends.

Rivervale is accessible from the Enchanted Lands (EL), and has no access requirements. Theoretically, once you can enter EL due to quest or level, you can enter Rivervale, but, of course, you won't be able to harvest until you obtain 190 in the proper harvesting skill(s).

The Feerrott cannot be accessed until you've completed the access quest at adventuring level 32 or higher, or until you've reached level 38 in adventuring or tradeskilling. Once you've obtained access via quest or level, a bell on the docks of Thundering Steppes will become activated. Note that if you die in the Feerrott, you can return to the bell in Thundering Steppes and right-click on it to obtain your shard(s).

Everfrost also has an access quest (that starts in Zek) at adventurer level 32 or higher. You can enter without questing when you've reached level 42 in adventuring or tradeskilling. The bell becomes activated on the docks in Zek when you complete quest or level entry requirements.

On top of the above "normal" places to harvest, there are some instanced zones where harvesting is permitted. The Vale of Shattering, off Antonica, has tier 2 harvestables (access information needed). Bloodskull Valley off Commonlands, which requires an access quest, has tier 4 harvestables, but is troublesome due to a script that spawns some orcs right away. Cove of Decay, off Thundering Steppes, also allows tier 4 harvestables, and is accessible via an access quest.
