cracked halfling skull yields bone lumber ?!

i read this in the crafting channel today, havent had time to check i was already late for work as it is, anybody else hear about this bug or is someone bsing, would be worth trying

There's a sticky over in the General Tradeskills forum about dropped items that work in TS recipes.

From that it looks like, yes, the cracked halfling skull that is a quest reward from Fallen Gate (i.e., a quested rare), can be used in place of severed bone.

Please note that this is the reward from a quest. It starts with a chest drop in Fallen Gate (Cracked halfling skull), which can be examined to give a quest (The Broken Halfling Skull) to kill approx 7 putrid dragoons, at which point you are rewarded with the "real" Cracked Halfling Skull, which has a description that states "you think you could make something out of this", or something to that effect. It works as a nice substitute for severed bone. Quest is not repeatable, btw.
This is _not_ one of the common skulls you get from killing random halfling mobs.
