Maybe i am just a lil bit wierd. However I had some ideas that I believe would be super nice additions to the world. I like the ideas of the benches that they have made. But what about being able to add padding to the seats and turn them into Couches, or Loveseats. It would seem that there should be a way to adapt the furniture in some random code that would allow cushioned seating.

How about some kind of padded "kings chair". Kinda like a Lay-Z-boy recliner without the reclining portion. I know that for me after a hard day down in the Workshops I desire a decent seat to sit in and watch my commonlands Gobbler strut around my room. Shouldn't I at least be afforded a bit of luxury?

I also think that i could take 3 rods of turned ash and a carbonite plate as a base and create some kind of lamp piece for the center of my dining table. Possibly some type of potpurri style bowl would be nice to have a flaming cauldron that would heat my room as well as provide light for me to read the newest edition of the Nettleville News.

And I am sure that I Have asked the Innkeep to tell the patrons taht have the room to the east of me to PLEASE refrain from banging their wall to late in the evening. Maybe I can craft some kind of padding for that wall out of Canvas.

Oh well such is life as an unemployed interior designer on the Mistmoore Server.

I want the basic things you see all over the city.

I want mugs! Easy mugs that can be crafted around 10 or so by a basic provisioner. Fancy steins by the 30s.

How about wooden bowls? Or jugs?

And on that tangent, why can't we buy wine bottles to put in the Thexian Wine Rack?

I just want some decent looking items to make, I don't really care what they are :(

I worked so hard to get to 50 carpenter and then, as you can see from my cedar pic post, that is what I get to make for my hard work.

lol, how bout actually being able to sit in a chair,. How about some functionality. If I can interact with my pet, then it can't be hard to let me turn on or off a sconce - two options: on/off. Wanna make EQ2 housing really cool and "innovative?' how about in-house mini games along the lines of checkers or something. Give people a reason to come visit my home other than when I have something for sale that costs more than 30gp. People don't run all over town buying cheap items. Oh, how about making it easier for people to actually FIND my home? Wouldn't that be cute? So I'm in a 2-room apartment in QH, great, that narrows it down, lol.

So beta.

Oh, and what Niv said.

Sly I LOVE that idea about checkers or chess in your place. Five stars!

I'd love for furniture items to be inspectable so someone in a room can wonder "What is that weird looking three handled moss-covered family credenza in the corner?" .... and find out. And who made it. And ask me to make them one too!

Hello long time lurker here, I had to sign up just to hop on this thread.

Is is me or does SOE reallly lack imagination when it comes to carpentry/furniture? I'm a level 27 carpenter and this has been buggin me for quite some time.

Some VERY good ideas so far on this thread btw:
Lay-z-boy chair (couches/divan too!)
Stiens (+other plates, bowls, china)
Chess Game

These are the kinds of things I would love to see! Heck I would not even care if they made them recipes for other classes...for example throw a bone to woodworkers and let them make carved wooden statue thats placeable in your room.

How about taxidermy stuff? Kill that big bad boss and he drops a head, get some formadyhide(sp) from an alchemist, engraved mounting plate from a sage, wood mounting peg from a woodworker, give it all to us and we make the final combine...voila a nice momento for those heroic occasions.

I could go on and on. Come on SOE, put a little imagination into it! We want more than a few basic tables, chairs and beds.

Yes Plants. And those little apothecary jars like all the scribe shops have.

Hmm. I put chandeliers and sconces in my room, and the room wasn't any brighter.

Maybe that's a graphics option? Otherwise, how about having light sources actually serve as light sources. If I add 2 chandeliers and 4 wall sconces, my room should be noticably brighter.

Draperies...god I hope the Devs read these posts. I'm experimenting with different things around/along the windows..they are so boring!

Draperies...god I hope the Devs read these posts.

I'd post a copy of ideas and things like that over on the Sony forums. :)

Hmm. I wish a player could somehow work up with a recipe for things you see while out adventuring (maybe some type of tradeskill quest? make this, make that, talk to the tradeskill door guard in X town and find out the secrets of this component, or that... etc....). I've seen some nifty stuff I wouldn't mind having made.

It is a graphics option. In graphics (I think the lighting sub-set), theres an option for max # of lights in one area... crank that up, and those chandelier and sconces will brighten the room up nicely.

I'm a long time lurker of these boards (learned how to bake and brew in EQ1 here) but this thread finally got me to register.

I've been submitting /feedback, and hope these ideas will get some attention from the developers. If we have to stay online to sell our wares, we might as well have the ability to customize our space and be happy in it!

I think we should have cushions, for the chairs yes, but how about on the floor! That way we can pile them up in a corner and lounge there with our kitties (since we can't sit in the chair.) Also, the tailors could make draperies that we could hang on the walls? or even tapestries...both would be correct for the times. I've also wished for a tabletop lantern. You see them all over the city, but so far I haven't found one to buy or make. And I second the idea of mugs/bottles/tableware. There is a guy in Beggar's Court, I believe, who says he makes glass bottles....why doesn't he sell them? We have lots of craftsmen, making tones of items, couldn't one of them make bowls, chargers, mugs, etc.? Can you imagine being able to bake up a delicious meal and inviting your closest friends over to eat??

Just adding my ideas......

You also have to have the "complex shader distance" set to a positive number. Set it to "-1" to speed everything up, and all the lights go out.

A thought, make the plates/bowls/mugs/glasses one slot containers, that way you could actualy server with them. Making them only take food stuff and the room limits, should make them less viable for additional storage.

I think a really great addition, maybe in a future expansion would be a stoneworking (either as another subclass or as some AA title or something). Call the title architect, or sculpturer and you can make fountains, diases, sculptures, safes (maybe like 30 slot + bank bags but they are 1000 weight instead of 100), different types of covers for walls of houses (I really want to see a marble one, wouldn't it be cool if carpenters could make that), benches and stuff like that.

I love this idea. Doing a quest for a single recipe would be worth my time. Kind of like that Golden Acorn quest. It would also help diversify what people in the same subclass could make beyond the "dropped" books that make mostly rare items.

I agree there. There's so much expandibility beyond just regular books and rare dropped books... what if the reward was just a no-trade book with just a couple, or even one recipe in it? It would make things a lot more fun, and add more to getting all the recipes then just hunting and watching the broker.

Remember EQL Xanathe's Earring of Nature quest, before it was completed? Or any other recipe book with recipes no one knew quite were... I enjoyed those.
