i know all the player made ones, and i know an oil painting of a knight from merchant, but recently ive seen a few pop up on broker new paintings, and no these are not the city merchants ones that cost status, and no they are not player made, they are an oil painting of a seaside cliff, an oil painting of a castle, and a couple more, they might be off a little on the names but thats it more or less, where do these come from ? i have players in freeport and qeynos any help would be greatly apprectiated.

According this site (http://www.eq2kb.com/SortType.htm#Paintings%20&%20Portraits) they are merchant bought from several different vendors.

I wonder if it could be one of the ones folks got by pre-ordering the Platinum disk. Mine, for example, is at the end of this page:

I don't know what all of them were but that's the one I chose. :)

As I am an owner of the pictures you mentioned above, I can confirm that they are purchased in North Qeynos at the furniture store there. There are a total of about 14 pictures, 2 of which duplicate player made ones in appearance.

They are from the NQ store - I didn't buy them, but I recall browsing through there and seeing them.

"Potrait of the Sun God" is exactly the same as a burlap potrait; "Landscape painting" or something to that effect is exactly the same as a canvas portrait, just so you know.
The furniture store in NQ has most of the paintings they sell on display in the store, with labels showing their title as per what the vendors call them.
