I was looking around the site for a craftsman "guide" at these levels but didn't see one. As of today (mid-January, 2005), what are some good recipies to efficienty advance as a craftsman? Im currently a level 11 craftsman and I really have no idea which recipies to focus on. Im basically looking to learn which items to make that do not require a lot of 'networking' with other tradeskillers so that I can relatively inexpensively buy anything that I can't harvest, and will either be good experience, and/or be highly desired by other tradeskillers.

Thanks in advance!

I have a little PL sheet for 1 - 10 but they have changed some of the ingredients the merchants use to sell. Once you hit 10 you should have Refined Thyme and Black Tea Leaves, those are great for PLing.

I would recommend trying out a little of each item you can. You might find something you would like to sub-class in. As for networking, you need to start now anyway. The lvl 10-20 crafters you meet now may well be the lvl 20-30 people you need next month. Provisioner is the only sub-class that doesn't have some sort of dependency.

For raw speed of levelling, you can't beat the food recipes, but of course, if you're not planning to be a provisioner, then you won't be developing the skills needed for carpentry and woodworking. Also, if your society is over level 10, you may be able to save some time by buying some of the needed subcombines.

In general, networking <> fast, so keep that in mind.

I'm an outfitter, going for tailor, but the best way to level is to try to make 1 of every even con recipe, and get it to pristine. You'll get some good xp for it, especially if you make everything you can yourself.

I ran through the teens pretty fast making a mix of stuff. I didn't do much discovery XP as a craftsmen because I was so busy making stuff people needed.

I made a lot of food and drink and a lot of maple strong boxes. I also made iron buckles for my guildmates.

I think I made all of 6 or 8 other pieces of furniture, total.

So for me --

-stacks and stacks of maple lumber
-which turned into more stacks of planed maple lumber
-a wide variety of food/drink based on whatever supplies I had. Fish was the most plentiful ingredient, and it's fast and easy to do.
-maple strongboxes after 15

I did almost no grinding in the teens.

The only path in Craftsman that requires little to no outside Help is provisioner.

Carpenters and Woodworkers both rely on Alchemists for Resins oils and Washes... as well as Tailors for Cords and other items... Jewlers for studs and Struts.

If you have a 10 plus society, youcould grind on maple quills & cailum paper & making a decent profit while getting xp.
Also like others have said unless your going provis you may as well start making friends , ( especialy if you want to make a some good money on maple strong-boxes)
