View Full Version : Can't get past "crude" state on Bloodburst

I picked up a tradeskill writ in NQ, and was assigned to create 10 "Middling Bloodburst". I can't delete the quest, so I figure I'm stuck with it. No big deal--although I'm a lowbie, Alchemy is at 81, and Chemistry is 74. Since Bloodburst is a level 13 recipe, I figure I shouldn't have any problems, especially since "middling" quality is only the second quality tier.

So I make some poison vials. For some reason, I can't seem to make anything but crude vials. Normally, when I start crafting, I'll get several "unknowns" in the progress window. On poison vials, though, nothing but "crude" shows up. I figure that it's no big deal since the vial is an intermediate component, so I make the attempt with crude vials. The other components are vendor-bought, and are of "mediocre" quality.

I run into the same problem with the Bloodburst. In the progress window on the first attempt, only one "unknown" appears initially, which then becomes "Thinning Bloodburst" as progress moves forward. I've make many attempts, and I still can't get beyond "Thinning." No higher quality unknowns appear regardless of how I try to push the reaction.

So am I doing something wrong? Is the recipe broken? Are there buffing strategies that can help push durability higher so the better quality variety is triggered? Do I need to use higher quality components? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Nevermind, I'm a n00b. Using crude was, of course, the problem.
