Artisan professions have a lot of differentiation built into them already based on the items they make.

However, some of the racial Traditions are geared specifically toward enhancing artisan abilities. They provides benefits for certain races following certain crafting profession paths.

I saw this quote and was curious if anyone knew anymore about it.
I did a ton of tradeskills in EQ1 and plan on being an artisan in EQ2.
I haven't decided on a class, race, or tradeskill yet. But if there are racial traditions geared towards tradeskills this will influence my race and tradeskill choice.

Is there a FAQ section set up?

Basically, what we know so far is the promotional information on it, and no details.

The news blurb on it can be found here:

There's a link from there to forum discussion on it that is likely to be one of the first places that has more details regarding this.

well Dwarfs get the ability to summon ail. . . .

I wonder when they will get around to patching it in,

I know they got a BIG negative backlash over the Templar and Swashbuckler spells and abilities. But then they also pulled the ROFLOL animation

My iksar has a racial option for:

"Whipstitch" - As a result of having tough scales, most iksar find wearing metal armor very uncomfortable. Because of this, many iksar become tailors using hide and cloth.

"Dark Medicine" - Iksar shaman have long practiced alchemy on the continent of Kunark. Some of that knowledge has been passed down to the present generation.

Let's see if we can collect info on the others before launch ...

It would also be very useful, I think, to try and get the levels where these are selectable. And if y'all are feeling a bit more ornery, what else you would be missing at those levels. (I say y'all because I'm not in beta - be happy to help as soon as I get into the game!)
