I have a craftsman atm.. was wondering how would a woodworker or a carpenter make money in there own way... i heard somplace that carpenters make boxes .. but is that it.. and woodworkers make quills/paper and is that it? just wonering if there was anything else they both can do to make money.. and which one would make the most?

I sell bows pretty regularly, and keep the stuff in my bank for shields, which I'll do on demand because there's 4 kinds, heh.

but paper and quills, sorry, that's our bread-and-butter. :)

Quills/papers dont sell, at least on my server.

I've sold a few pieces of equipment (bows, greatstaves and some shields) but that's it.

Now even scraps are NO-VALUE so we won't do money easily :)

Check carefully how many copetitors you will have and their behavior: on runnyeye woodworkers are undercutting beyound sense ... i make a lot more cash with my jeweler alt :p

On the Nektolus server, when ever I did a search for quills and paper I either did not find any at all or I found some that was highly over priced. I have not looked in a while since I leveled out of spell making but the tier 2 quills and paper were usually over priced 5s for paper and 8 to 10silver for the quills

I am seeing these same prices for T3 components on Nek, at least the Qeynos side (haven't visited the fence lately). Except in the case of T3 its about 5 - 8 s for either. I try to help the situation by selling T3 wood really cheap :)

The good news is that, in Qeynos at least, there are two or three woodworkers who reliably have components for sale every night or so. Makes it easier to stay stocked up.

Resellers are buying up reasonably priced goods and marking them up to improve their profit margins. Occasionally, you'll get lucky and find decent prices before these sharks do, but it's getting hard these days.

Don't you just hate middle men? These parasites contribute no value to a society and just bloat prices to make money for themselves. Sickening.

Sadly this is still continuing. I've run into a few who are logged in 24x7 just to buy low and resell high. Well I may never become rich in-game, but you can be bloody well certain I will sell at stable prices and fight these vermin and defend the economy and peoples of Norrath!

unless they add in a way to not sell to certan people. you will be selling to the people you hate. because you will be lower tha them. they will buy up your stock on the speculation value alone.

If you wanna make money - dont make a Woodworker, there's possibly money in Ash Strong Boxes etc.. as a carpenter but it takes a while to achieve Pristine Quality now and that alone is a lot of investment in time / money ..

I quit my woodworker as its pure cut throat - at least with my alchemist my stuff will sell even if its priced higher and I can make profit while levelling unlike throwing money at it with woodworker making crappy quills that dont sell in mass quanities!

Even at stupid cutthroat prices my stuff was still lying on the shelf , oh yeh you will sell long bows but even at that its slow motion cash in comparison to other classes!

I'm 24 Alchemist now and with -> solid production <- you can easily turn 30-50 gold a week ++. Where as my woodworker was making maybe 15 gold a week at level 25. :(

If you wanna make mega bucks, go Alchemist!

I have a level 30 (almost 31) Woodworker, and on my server I can't make enough paper and quills to meet the demand. I also have a level 30 Sage (which is why I originally started my woodworker) and have found patterns to be more profitable at this level than spell making.

The income potential on these two seem about equal for me.

40'th woodworker here and I too can't keep up with demand. I don't even sell via broker anymore because it is impossible for me to supply friends even.

Always remember that the money gets better with each tier. For instance...

T4: 1 briarwood (5sp) + 1 granum wash (4sp) = 1 kozo paper (16sp to a vendor or more to a player).

Sages need paper. Lots of it. Armorsmiths and tailors need lots of patterns from sages. You can't make enough paper is my experience.
