how many guilds are going to be remade in eq2 and what ones should a person look for. Names of guilds that are good and bad

I've never played EQ1, but one of the NPCs I've talked to mentioned something about the Great Halfer's Company. Now, being a Halfling myself, I was rather interested in starting it up. Anybody here have a Halfling or Half-Elf and would like to join?
