This jumped out at me today, and I thought I'd post here and see if anyone else has noticed the same thing. I ground out 2 stacks of hexanoid reagent, and noticed something strange. It seemed clear to me that the pristine quality bar (green one) when I was using gold as my main ingredient had about 50 - 70 more points than when I was using agate. I noticed this because when I spam all 3 of my buffs, (which I do every tick) and had a moderate failure (-48 quality, +49 durability) it would drop by a little less than a third when I was using gold, but when I was using agate it would drop by more than half on the same type of failure... has anyone else noticed this?

It is true. The gems have less durability. And there is another thread on this subject btw.
