Hello!
I have been digging around a bit to get an answer, but I was hoping for opinions from you guys :)
I have always enjoyed tradeskilling, but something very odd happened with EQ2 ... my husband started to tradeskill (was a shock ...). He has a level 18 future armorer.
I was wondering, what classes will he need as a 20+ armorer? I was looking at the list of what is needed, but I am not familar with who makes what. Right now, I am leaning toward a tailor or a carpenter (or jeweler?). What would you recommend please? (he won't buy anything because I have always been able to make his needed items - if he has to start buying items, I think he will lose interest since he is only making armor for himself/friends who could use the help).
I already have a 22 alchemist and a 21 woodworker.

Thank you very much for your help! :)

Make a jeweler. Between that and your alchemist he will be able to make vanguard armor. He will need more help to make chain stuff but at least with a jeweler he will be able to make something.

Make a carpenter... they can make studs padding and plates that armorers need.

Thank you :)
May I ask what else is needed for vanguard that a carpenter cannot make (I thought jewelers only made the studs ... think I am missing something!)

*Most* vanguard armor requires a plate (which afaik is armorer only), a sheet (which is armorer or carpenter), and studs (which is jeweler or carpenter).

Carpenter's can correct me on that if I'm wrong, I don't know their list so well.

The carbonite shoulder piece requires a pattern and padding, which I think is probably a bug. I haven't gotten to them, since I switched to my alchemist being my main tradeskiller, but I'd guess the BP and legs probably require leather harnesses.

The chain requires rings (which only armorers can make, and it's difficult), a pattern (which sages make), and padding (which tailors make).

Furthermore, it's possible that later on the armorer will require a weaponsmith to make bars. Armorer is a fun class that can make a lot of neat stuff, but they are *extremely* dependent on other classes.

Thank you again!
I think I will go with a carpenter then (as he will mainly want to make plate armor).
I really appreciate the advice :D

Just as a note I just dinged 40 and I seem to be able to make fulganite bars at least as well as feyiron. (about 75% pristine when im paying attention) so its not all that bad if you use the right buffs.

Carpenters can also make plates (though they using L9 or 19 skills on them too, like we use for bars).
