Other than canvas patterns, is there ANY way to skill up other than making spells from 20 - 30? I'm only 23, so I'm not sure whats in the next 7 levels, but I can't continue making spells that wont sell for 1/2 of what I paid for the ink alone.
Has anyone at Sony mentioned the possibility of giving us something at lvl 25 to fill the gap (based on comments I've seen here, we dont get anything but spells to 30).
I'm dying :( I became a Sage because I'm a wiz and the boyfriend is a Fury... I've always made spells, figured I could do it here too, but this has become insanity. I'm losing 10g a pop just to gain one lvl. Sometimes more.
Any suggestions? And is there a list of what spells ARENT dropped in Adept 1 form? Tired of making spells that adept 1's are selling for 15s and I can't even recover cost until 45s.
Thanks!

Im stuck at 29 for a bit, seems the only "viable" way to level is with spells. It takes me at least 4-5 combines of thread/patterns just to get 1%, its uuuugly!
Your only option is to either befreind a low 20's alchemist to trade ink for resources only, or start an alchemist + paper/quill maker yourself. We're kinda limited on options lol...
Be sure to make one of each spell, discovery experience rocks!

yeah im lev 32 sage its a little tough but not to bad .well on mistymoore not that bad most app 3s tier 3 sell for 65 to 1g.so far lev tier 4 spells are selling at 3 gp firm no complaints from palyers they are happy just to get hands on the spells.just do some research and search out the common adepts and dont make those spells.
and as mentioned above discovery xp is your friend.what i useually do is make spell first time make shaped or regular copy of the spell then 2 nd time pristine. yields more xp then just doing pristine from the start.
go out harvest material make them deal with chemists on the ink.not sure prices on your server but i can get ink for bout 20 to 25 sp with out harvesting items. if give em bunch of roots and stuff useually get it for 10 sp each.hope this helps.

Hmm I was tempted to try that, uncover one question mark at a time, and click STOP while crafting. Does it really add up? I'd imagine it would, I'll have to try it ;)
How is it getting ink/ paper/quills for tier 4 on your server? Im not looking forward to it =\

yeah it adds up to more xp i useually do 2 versions of a spell but doing 4 versions would prob gain more.
paper and quills hard to find then ink, 100 times harder.always check the fence also.

What class do I need to look for to make the Paper and Quils for Tier 3+?

You need to find a 20+ woodworker for Ash Quills and Tapa paper.

When trying to level try this: Buy regular not pristine inks, and make all the spells in your even skill book (i.e., if you are level 23 use your level 23 book spells). Make one of each spell App III. Then use your pristine ink to re make an App IV version of the same spell. I then sell my App III's to a vendor and my App IV's go up on trader. Also, the quality of quills and papers is irrelevent to the final product so shop the broker regularly for crude and shaped products at a cheaper cost.
I have found the App II exp is not worth the trouble. The App III and IV exp is well worth it tho.
I'm a one of everything sage. I get just discovery for App IV and move on.
I still cannot seem to move a spell at all. I avoid spells with plentiful Adept 1's like the plague, and never make spells for Freeport only classes (after discovery taht is). Yet still I struggle to sell any spells at even my costs.
I sure hope this doesn't continue because I would be better served to make my own alchemist and woodworker, rather than dump money into stuff that just takes up space.

I gave up and made my own alchemist alt, she's now just a level or two behind my sage :P I'm still debating on retiring the sage completely, as alchemy seems more 'fun' to me ;)
Maybe when I'm 50 adventure I'll revisit the sage part.
