A very ugly rumor is going around saying loam and maple scraps will have no value after The Big Patch.
Can anyone on test confirm that loam and maple scraps have a value?

Confirmed yesterday as having no value.
It was one thing to cut the price, and I understand it. It's a another thing to make it completely worthless as an interim byproduct except as part of the "stay in your room you're grounded" trading system.

I'm hoping this is just an intermediate change like they did with provisioners not too long back. Make them no value until they figure out what they think is a fair value and then set the correct number.
Maybe they will fix totems and potions/poisons with the big tradeskill patch and loam/scraps will become much more valuable to players. We can hope. :)

Well, turned lumber has no value on the live servers.
But loam still sells on live. I sold some tier 4 loam for 5s 33cp each this weekend. Now that I know it's going no-value, I sold all the loam I had - I used to squirrel a little away in case I needed glasses, but a stack of tier 4 loam is 1gold 5silver when sold to a vendor, and I can't throw gold away.
I'm just glad I got the heads up and was able to clear out all six stacks of loam before the change. And continue to sell to the vendor as I make them rather than getting lazy and letting them build up.

I sold maple scraps on live ast night for 33c per. Selling them as a stack seemed bugged though. I foget how much i got but I realived it wasnt 33c per. Selling them individually I got the proper amount.

On live, scraps still have value, but turned lumber is now marked NO VALUE.

I sold some maple scraps today - 8 of them. Now that you mention it, I don't think I got 33copper each. I will have to watch that from now on. I've also sold ash scraps since Christmas but I didn't pay attention to how much I got for them so I don't know if the price is bugged on those as well.
I hope they don't change the value on these in the live game. As far as I know as a carpenter I have no need for scraps so I will only end up destroying them all if they change to no value. Seems like a waste. If I can get enough resin, I'll process all of my ash before the patch.

Maple scraps were 50c. SOE patched them down to 33c. Ash scraps were 1s, 33c and stayed the same (at least I think that was the price...whatever it was, it didn't change when maple changed). Since the patch, I've advanced to briarwood. Those scraps sell for 5s, 33c.
Since people reported not getting full price for a stack, I've been periodically checking what I get. I've always got full value (i.e. 20 time 5s, 33c) for my briarwood scraps (at least every time I've checked).
I don't mind not getting money for scraps. They are scraps after all, and I get value for the refined wood as well. Assuming I sell both the scraps and the refined lumber, I net around 20s for each piece of briarwood. That seems excessive to me.
