Has anyone noticed/tested, if stats will effect skills like in EQL?

I'm pretty sure it has been stated that stats do NOT affect your tradeskill abilities. Have to go see if I can dig it up - or maybe someone will post confirmation.
Here's Ngreth's quote and I trust him to know:

I've checked that as well, buffs, where you stand or how you hold your tongue makes no difference.

one thing that did occur to me - is the "power" bar used in tradeskilling taking from the "power" pool that you use to cast spells, or is it calculated differently?
if the former, surely a casting class that has decided to boost their power would be better off..
mind you, on that train of thought, it doesn't need to be a casting class, as melee use power for HOs too.. so I guess just equipment that boosts power will help..
would that be right? tradeskill equip = power pool boost stuff?
feel free to ignore my ramble, I've not been up long, and I have a grumbly baby on my lap which doesn't help concentration any :)

Ariadne, I believe that tradeskill always use a percentage of your power/health. Until that changes, it doesn't matter what your exact levels are. And since regen is also percentage based, there's no bias on that end either (where a smaller pool regenerates faster).

With the amount of balance required to use the tradeskill boosts and not lower the quality too much, I've never even seen a hit on my power pool when crafting. For those not in beta, the tradeskill boosts, or abilities, currently quicken the progress bar for a time while overall durability takes a hit. So if you boost too much, you'll make the item quicker, but probably not to pristine quality. My personal system involves only boosting 2 or 3 times at most. Of course random events happen to alter that plan now and then, but generally it works for me.
As it stands now, boosts only really work well for the tradeskills that are in much demand by Adventurers. :) Last night I was turning a bunch of extra tier 2 resources into potions (other than tuber strands--can't ever find enough of those) and I was frequently down below 50% of power just using the chemistry buffs two or three times (and they don't last more than one round anyway).
But the buffs work well for armoring, tailoring, scribing and even runecraft (jewelry making/pommel making).

As it stands, the buffs are being removed, so it is a moot point :)
But tradeskills are based on percentage of health and pawer and will remain so, so that no particular class has an advantage.
