Ok so when the Bank Man ask's you 'Are you an Adventure or Artisan?"

...What's the difference? Can anyone tell me as im going to start a new guy and not sure if i should go the Artisan route this time. What difference does it make if any?

I think it is just for fun. No actual effect on whether you chose. Just a favourite text dialogue.

way back when they were first developing EQ2 they wanted to make it so that artisan was a class archetype like fighter. You could choose to be an adventurer or you could be an artisan not both. Then someone pointed out that artisans would never be able to survive out in higher tier areas long enough to gather resources, so they changed it to the current system of everyone is an artisan in addition to being an adventurer. They just never told the bankers that it was changed.

There was once a difference long ago, butr then Sony realized no one would want a paper-thin craftsman in the group picking roots while the other characters did the real work.

Thanks for all this info, it does help. One last thing...does an Artisan get more XP from crafting than an Adventure? ;)
