Hi all,
I'm wondering how to make calium paper? I can't seem to find it in my recipe list. Is it a recipe from a dropped book or something? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Craftsmen make it. You need to buy from them, or make an alt to make it.
Same with quills.
Outfitters make Iron Spikes needed for runes.

...or you could just get a craftsman to buy you a level 10 craftsman book
Then you can scribe it and make your own quills and paper.
...sssssshhhhhhhh don't tell SOE I'm not sure if it was intended to work that way or not!!!! But it works.... actually it works with all the level 10 artisan class books, So you can actually make your own iron spikes or what ever else you need that you have to buy from someone else.

As of 1/2/2005, I was able to scribe the Craftsman essentials 10 as a scholar.

By the way, It is cailun paper, not cailum. :)

Yeah, it is cailun paper, if you search for calium on the broker you won't find any. Interestingly I was misspelling it the same way. I am wondering if it was an 'honest' mistake in misspelling as (perhaps for english) calium seems 'correct' or if it was misspelled in one of the recipes somewhere.

If you are in a level 10 society or know someone in one you can have them buy you the paper

By level 10 society do you mean the 10-19 trade skill society, like Scholar?
If yes, mine does not sell it, I can get Tier 1 paper, but not cailun. Maybe the society will start to sell it as it gains notoriety.

I believe by level 10 society, Vorvox means one that has reached level 10 status.

Every society has a level. The society you join at level 10 is not level 10. Chances are your first society you joined when you got off the IoR boat is close to or is level 10. You can get allot of the tier 2 interms including the tier 2 paper. I think you can get anything that take one combine. Is this right?
Yea what NerissaGoldenrose said

BTW, I just checked this morning and couldn't find caliun paper of any sort on the merchant in my (level 15) wholesaler society. They've got tier 1 paper, maple lumber, eolith temper, and stroma wash/resin/oil, but no caliun paper that I could find. Is it only level 10+ secondary societies, did I miss it, or are you just assuming it'll be there based on the fact that all of the other stuff is there?

As far as I can tell the Cailun paper is NOT on a tier 2 society merchant. Not sure if its a mistake or not but several items the I beleive should be there, aren't.

I was looking for this last night. Would be nice if I could actually make my own spells beng a 15 scholar, 19 Summ.
So instead, I blew 6gold on some pristine 10slot bags.
scholars can still scribe craftsman10 book...did it yesterday just as if it were a scholar
book.......
any feedback on using the recipes in the book?
are there any other non scholar books we should be looking to get?

The biggest problem you will have using the other skills recipes is that the skills, woodworking/fletching etc. will be capped at either 45 or 55.
Also, you will only get the first set of Reaction Buffs for those other schools, and believe me, it is a REAL good thing we don't need pristine quills and paper to make spells.
Also, be careful, some recipes are repeated, BUT with different tools/buffs used to make the items. A Scholars iron bar is a LOT easier to make than a Craftsmans for a scholar.
