First, please allow me to apologize for my spelling and gramer skills. I suck i know. Knowing that Im a nearly illitorate moron I would honestly apprecate no one posting corrections to my useless clericle skills. My secritary revolted when i asked her to take dictation for an internet vido game /shrug. Anyway thanks.

Good deal, so let me tell you briefly where i am. I just canceled my eq1 account and ordered a PC that will let me start on eq2. The new PC will arive the day after X-mas. So if i ask a question that has no relevence know that it is becouse i havent actualy played a single hour yet. Again i will apologize in advance for any ignorance i show later in the post. I have a server , class and traidskill already lined up in my head. Its mainly verification of thease choices i will be directing questions to you from. I expect to be a Barbarian, monk / tailor, on the permafrost server.

Now then, my first question is does race matter for traidskills. Let me further explain my question. I understand as you level some uniqe racial binifits become avalible. I read that as a choice iksar for example can choose to get a +2% tailoring modifyer. Barbarians have a choice that reads to be some sort of tracking. the sony discriptions have always been unreasonbly vague and thease raceial binifits prove to be no exception. So just to condence this question to its bace, Can race choice binifit me as a traidsman.

Next, I wanted to be a tailor befor i settled on a class choice. and honestly i chose monk becouse it suited my tailor traidskill choice not the other way around. A monk useing light armor seemed to me a good choice for a tailor who makes said light armor. Haveing said that my question now is, Does monk augment my Tailor as much as my tailor seems too augment my monk. Let me clerify. From a background in EQ1 I know that stats matter for traidskills. To make an example High int, wis or dex effected the sucsess rate of an EQ1 tailor. If thats true of traidskills on the new EQ2 system as a monk i will tend to try to stack a spicific set of stats, largely agility i imagion. Will a high agility make for a good tailor? Do stats play any roll in traidskilling at all in EQ2?

Finaly, I have a question about location. I hear alot of talk about trapping and forageing and mineing for raw materials for traidskills. The tailor raw materials, im told, can be boiled down into pelts and roots. now follow me hear becouse i want you to understand my thought prosess. In my mind it makes sence that one "zone" should be richer in some resorses than others. For example one should find alot more ore to mine in the raith mountians than one would in neriak forest. Roots and tubers should be more plentiful in a plains "zone" than say a dungion like blackburrow. My question to you then is this, is my lodgic in this true or not. And if so to tailors spicificly are pelts and roots more plentiful in the "zones" surounding qeynos or freeport?

I realy apprecate your advice and openions and look forward to any constructive help you can supply me in the next week befor my choices are made concrete at the charictor creation screen. Thanks again.

My first question is does race matter for traidskills... Can race choice binifit me as a traidsman.

Yes. You mentioned wanting to be a barbarian: From this link you can determine the following:

http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq2/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=19786

BARBARIAN
Brewmaster - Boosts Provisioner skills
Herbology - Boosts Alchemist skills

As you can see Tailoring is not benefited by being a barbarain. You might want to consider the following races for tailoring boosts:

HALFLING
Niami’s Tutelage - Boosts Provisioner skills
Pants Patcher - Boosts Tailor Skills
HUMAN
Metallurgy - Boosts Armorer skills
Clothier - Boosts Tailor skills

IKSAR
Whipstitch - Boosts Tailor skills
Dark Medicine - Boosts Alchemist skills

WOOD ELF
Gift of the Faydark - Boosts Woodworker skills
Faydwer Fashions - Boosts Tailor skills

Next, I wanted to be a tailor befor i settled on a class choice. and honestly i chose monk becouse it suited my tailor traidskill choice not the other way around. A monk useing light armor seemed to me a good choice for a tailor who makes said light armor. This is not anything like EQ1. There is no benefit to any race or class above any other race or class, other than the racial abilities. Stats do not matter so don't worry about it.
Finaly, I have a question about location. I hear alot of talk about trapping and forageing and mineing for raw materials for traidskills. I played evil side in beta and now play good in live. Tier 1 resources seem a bit more abundant in Qeynos newbie zones IMO, but that is easy to fix by making sure you fill your bank up on the Isle of refuge with harvested roots and pelts. Tier 2 resources on up are pretty easily found on BOTH sides. So play the side you like, not the one you think will give you the most resources.

I realy apprecate your advice and openions and look forward to any constructive help you can supply me in the next week befor my choices are made concrete at the charictor creation screen. Thanks again.
