If you look here: http://eq2.eqtraders.com/recipes/recipe_page.php?article=35&rsa=Artisan&kn=Alchemy&sb=item&menustr=080020020020

You will see that I point to the "shaped" version of recipes on the main site. This was to emulate what the EQ2 does in game when you examine the recipes.

It has been proposed to me that it would be easier if I listed it by "normal" version, which is easier to find stuff because it has no prefix

So lets vote...

(and it is not a large change for me to make, so don't worry about that part of it)

I like the normal version.

It can be confusing to see shaped, and the normal version has no previx, thereby eliminating that.
Also, like you said, it would make seraching a bit easier, plus it would eliminate some clutter by taking 1 word out of that many recipes.

Now I'm just waiting for the programmers to "fix" the names for "final" combined items (i.e. foods where savory is worse than "normal") just to mess with all the random sites that are building lists of items. :D

I can see where Savory could be worse than normal...

Who wants savory ice cream? I sure don't =)

I like the "normal" version as well...

I'd use "shaped", only because the Work Shop Task use Shaped and, when examined, the recipes show their final prodcut as Shaped.

A thought, though: some weaponry and wearables have different stats at different levels of refinement. So at some point for those items all four final qualities should be cataloged somewhere.

I like normal because for the most part on an even con combine, you will usually result in normal, unless something goes drasticly wrong. But, at normal, you actually get some good stat information.

Normal is preferable. It's easier to find in the listings, and normal is more norm... errr... usually made.

It would be much easier to search for things without the prefix. Putting the prefix in the details rather than in the title would be much easier to find things. I suspect it would also be lighter on the database than keeping a seperate entry for each possible prefix.

Use shaped....we have all those populated (or should at least), getting the "normal" or "pristine" version of all player made items will be a royal pain in the *** because you can't just inspect the recipe to get them, someone actually has to MAKE them. Look at Weaponsmith levels 20-36 currently, I have 100% of the shaped, we have about 40% of the 'Pristine' and about 20% of the 'unnamed'....it will be a long time before we have them all 100% (and don't even get me started about crude =)

I would like to bring this up again...

I would definitely like to see them as normal.

This last comment has delayed me on implementing the change, along with the fact that the code change is more dificult than I expected :/

In this case, I would just leave it at shaped... but make it possible to access the other versions (if available/in the db).

Just click on the recipe. It will list what it can possibly make, and you can link to those from there.

Also, if you do a general search for items, you'll retrieve all the matches anyway (so if you search for the "normal" version, you should find all four versions).

Yeah, sorry about that, brain wasn't working at full steam when I posted that, hehe.
