Questions on carpenter

I am currently leveling up a sage and am interested in making a carpenter as well. The question comes from it seeming like they only make chairs, tables, beds and bookcases for the most part. Is that pretty much correct?

I would like to be able to craft some of the cooler items that I see for sale on the merchants, like the curved counters for instance. Are things like this available in the later crafting books or not even an option for the carpenter at this time?

As for the first, yes, for the most part. 99% of what carpenters make is room furnishings; beds, desks, tables, bookshelves, rugs, portraits, sconces and chandiliers, etc. This are basically luxury items for sake of decorating your room. Not to knock luxury items... once the game isn't so bottom-heavy and there's more poeple out there that can afford to spend money on items for more than just purely practical benefits, carpentry will be a very profitable skill. But as for practical benefits... it's being talked about that certain rare furniture can lower status cost of room upkeep for rooms that cost status. Also, we can make strongboxes, which are great for increasing bank capacity.

Not sure on curved counters... haven't seen any around, so are probably above tier 4 if they can be made, or maybe are just made from rare components. Anyone who knows for sure feel free to say so.

its to pimp your house! Pimp your banks! and later in life pimp your guilds..I love being a carpenter for 2 reasons..

1) The rareity of how many Carpenters we have on Befallen
2) The talk about Furniture bringing the Rent cost down on certin houses will pay off in the long run.. Stock up on the Fir and Oak boys and girls (When Fir gets fixed IMO) because one day we going to be rich..

i do it because it's fun!...i so look forward to each lvl and seeing what the furnitures look like..for instance last night, i made an ash stool..and omg it's cute!

far as money..you definitely don't become a carpenter for money but i've had zero problem trading ash chair for resin/tempers/paddings so forth. or making 2~5gold for decorating guild or house..selling ash boxes for 75silver each(i hate hate hate making boxes though..) ..

i use alot of merchant bought stuff too when decorating ppl's suites but some things are down right hideious.....

few annoying bugs like fir..void of 10-19..but all in all i have fun:) equiptment so far is predictable but furniture isn't!~:)



i just wish you could use either fletching or carpenter buffs for lumber..seems to me it's more carpenter domain..but still it's not a problem;)
