Where do I get Rawhide Hide Plate, Rawhide Cord, and Refined Rawhide Leather? I figure I have to trap or whatnot but where? I'm only a level 7 artisan but I have some things that require these and yet I see nowhere to make them or buy them.

Also, one item requires Threadbare to make but I don't even get that recipe until Artisian 9, so why would they have something that needs it? And I'm not talking about thread or yarn either, just plain threadbare.

Thanks.

Step 1: Go to a tier 1 zone -- quite a few folks like Forest Ruins, but any will do. Find a (something) den and gather from it. You'll get sullied low-quality (something) skins/pelts.

Step 2: Acquire quantities of chloro wash and resin (? I think it's resin for plates, might be oil) --you can either make this yourself (gather roots) or buy the shaped version from your wholesale merchant. Also, buy filaments from the merchant, you'll need 1 per combine.

Step 3: Make sure you have the level 3 & 4 "artisan essentials" books. I think the rawhide leather is in 3 and the plate in 4, IIRC.

Step 4: Find your recipe for "Rawhide Leather" or "Stretched Rawhide" or something like that... naming is a bit inconsistent, so I'm not sure which it is. Go to an appropriate crafting machine in your wholesaler society and use that to make what your recipes are referring to as "refined rawhide". As I said, naming is a bit inconsistent.

Step 5: Turn your refined rawhide into plates using the appropriate recipe.

Now, as for just plain "threadbare" -- hmm.. I don't think I've *ever* seen a recipe for that, I'm really not sure what it is. Every recipe I've seen that requires it gives you the option of using roots instead, so just use those.

The author of the first post is seeing the bugged recipe that gets chopped off when it says "Raw Roots or Threadbare"... I have no idea what threadbare thing can be used to make threadbare thread either, but it's there for tier 2 recipes as well, the same bug... "Raw Tuber or Burlap"....

Speaking of which... I keep meaning to /feedback the column width & text wrapping thing in the displays. It's particularly bad when examining a recipe book to see if I want to spend nearly 5s on it -- I often see just "Tanned Leather" on the list of recipes, and no idea (short of coming here) of tanned leather WHAT is in that book since the text doesn't always seem to wrap correctly in the columns.

My best guess is that the "threadbare..." and "burlap..." in the base recipes refers to recycling of mob-dropped stuff that I saw someone talking about at some point. However, I just use roots / tuber strands and don't worry about it, which is what I would guess most people do.

I gathered sullies from dens a long time ago.

I already made lots of chloro wash, resin and oil plus bought filaments

I have scribed all essentials books up until 8.

I don't see anything rawhide in any of my recipes. :/ I'll look around some more.

Make sure to remove any filters that may be set - change to the "Unfiltered" drop-down item in your recipe book.

Check your filters. Having them set wrong is the most common reason not to be able to see a recipe if you have the book scribed.

I can't get in-game now, but I'm pretty sure the name for the base refined leather recipe is "Rawhide Leather" and that it's level 3, but it may be 4. The plate is (IIRC) "Rawhide Hide Plate", and I'm pretty sure it's level 4. I think the cord is "Rawhide Leather Cord", it's the same level as the plate (4, I think).

If I recall correctly....

Refined Rawhide: (tailoring)
sullied low quality pelt (any, see below)
chloro wash (bought/made)
filament (bought 6c)

Rawhide cord (tailoring)
Refined Leather
chloro resin (bought/made)
filament (bought 6c)

Rawhide Plate (tailoring)
Refined Leather
Chloro Oil (bought/made)
Filament (bought 6c)

Chloro Wash: (alchemy)
roots (foraged)
liquid (bought, acerated water? 6c)
candle (bought 6c)

Chloro Resin: (alchemy)
roots (foraged) or raw elm (forested)
liquid (bought, acerated water? 6c)
candle (bought 6c)

Chloro Oil: (alchemy)
roots (foraged)
liquid (bought, acerated water? 6c)
candle (bought 6c)

Pelts - you can get these from the dens (badger, rat, mole, etc) in teir 1 zones such as Forest Ruins or Oakmyst Forest (Qeynos side), but If you want quantity faster then hunt deer in these zones instead. The deer spawn faster than the dens, always spawn in the same location, etc.

Wash/Oil/Resin - the shaped version of these is fine but will cost more than you can make them for. I can't remember the exact prices, but they are at least 18c if not 36c for 1. For 12c and 1 set of roots you can make 3 or 4 without too much trouble.

Sullied LQ Hide Made into Stretch of Leather
The Stretch of leather IS refined rawhide... Just like a tin bar is refined tin.

'threadbare' and 'burlap' etc are the products of completely borked combines. these are the recycle recipes that are currently in. (same as you get a malformed isonoid or something from the app3 combines, that can be recycled.)
