Maple Strongbox Bug?

I was wondering if anyone else came across this. It seems that there are random pieces being returned after a successful combine of a Pristine Maple Strongbox.

I was making them for friends, so had all components ready, Combined 3 boxes, 2 pristine and 1 regular result, and recieved 1 Pristine box, 1 Regular box and 5 Average quality deer pelts.(no third box)

Tried again later, 3 combines, 3 pristine results, resulted in 3 pristine boxes, and 15 roots.( I had no roots on me, in my bank and have not been to a tier 1 zone in 7 levels)

I bugged this, but would like to know if anyone else has recieved any bonus results or a replaced result.

Edit: I had made about 30 before this, and didn't see any "extra" pieces until after the 12/9 patch as I made about 10 combines on 12/8

I noticed some other oddities suddenly - I was able to make a pristine box off non-pristine lumber. Pleasantly surprised but still...
