View Full Version : Arr. Can't make me mind up to go scrolls or potions

I started my Scholar to make my spell upgrades. I now have the skill up to 16.5 and I enjoy it quite a lot. However I would say 90% of my work to date has been at the chemical station.

Everyone needs things created at this station, yet no one EVER asks me to make them spells or skill upgrades. I've solicited and gotten a few spell sales (mostly other Templars), but the majority of the silver I've gathered from the player community is for Chemicals or Iron Studs.

Should I choose Alchemy at lvl 20?

Anyone else having this problem making this decision?

yes im having a hard time deciding too. my guild would like me to do scribe err sage or whatever it is that makes spells, im almost thinking its a good idea, cause potions atm are kinda... lame, no description no hint to what it does, and its near impossible to figure out what some of them do, but my reasoning to be an alch was ppl use it its gone they need more, unlike a spell once they buy it they dont need it anymore... so you are always looking for new customers with potions you can build a customer base and really have no need to forever looking for new customers. but alchemy looks like much more fun :) i am really unsure im just lvl 11 almost 12 scholar. i would think soe would do something about the potion description... its just really stupid how they neglegted this part or even stupider if they choose not to implment descriptions of the potions.... i think i will end up doing Alchemist in the end gl to you :)

I'm wrestling with this as well. On one hand, I'm sorcerer going wizard, so Sage would be nice for spell upgrades. On the other hand, Alchemist seems to be needed by every other class, so there would be some demand there. And, I've made some really fun and useful stuff under the Jewelcraft heading -- it's helped me fill in some resist holes and get some stat boosts.

All that to say I just don't know yet. I have to decide soon, too, I'm about halfway to 18 Scholar :)

i'll have to decide between jeweler and alchemist, and will miss one path when i go for the other... (i'm 18 now, halfway to 19)

as soon as each of us has taken that decision, he/she should post this decision and maybe later tell the others whether it was a good one or not...

this could evolve into the former scholar confession thread. "hello group, my name is sergio, and i'm an alchemist."

agreed? :)

Sigh, I still cannot make my mind up between Sage and Alchemist either. But I cannot keep delaying indefinitely, I know.

Jeweler for the win!
