*chuckles* After translating from ancient ogre, that was actually quite interesting. :)
How long did it take from start to the finished pristine thread though? Your writeup makes it seem rather prolonged with all of the daydreaming.
Assuming you can answer such questions, that is. ;) If you can't, I understand and will just wait for the next entry in your tradeskilling adventures. :)

As far as I know, I cannot talk about it outside of my aproved posts.
I was afraid of that. :) Oh well, the mystery is one that'll be delved into, in detail, at a later date then. ;)

Very nice write up Ngreth. Did you keep bumping your knees on those Halfling Looms? :D

 after the coment about hot and spicy toelings, I suspect I know why you live with a halfling!
Now I am wondering how many toes the Denmom has left? :D

Eating moldy, spiced halfling toes...no wonder your hair stands on end!
This is another reason I'm glad I'm a half-elf -- nobody finds us tasty. Except gnolls. And goblins. And orcs. And dragons. And...

I have not sat down with a calculator to figure it out :/
to make a pristine item may take about 90-120 seconds.
If an item caps at crude or shaped you can probably do it in 30-45 seconds.

I didn't expect exact numbers or anything, Ngreth. :) Just wanted a feel for the process since your initial writeup made it seem like 10 or 20 minutes, even all day. ;)

When you get out of the first couple levels of crafting, start experimenting with the 'stop' key, using crude on NON-primary components (if you aren't vendor buying them). It will save you tons of time! ;)

Thanks for the write up. That was the first example I've ever seen of how the tradeskills actually work. I keep hearing it's like combat, but that never really explained it to me. This clears all that up. Looks like alot of fun. :)

Some details I left out, becasue it was not very in character to talk about.
An item to create ahs a "durability" and a "progress"
You need to build up progress before the durability is gone.
each pulse you can have 1 of 4 posible results.
Crit Fail: -100 AND -50 to durability, no progress.
Fail: -50 to durability, no progress
Success: -10 to durability, +50 to progress
Crit Success: No durability loss, +100 to progess
There is ALWAYS 3 steps of durability. There is a progress step for each posbile level (crude, shaped, normal, pristine)
That is the BASICS of the process... then there are events and skills you can use to affect the outcome. I will talk about those another time.
if you loose enough durability to go down a step, you loose a posible level of progress... (so if your max was pristine, now your max is normal.) ALSO you go back a step in progress... I.E. if you made it to normal, you go back to shaped.
If you progress to the crude step, it will not go lower than crude unless the durability goes to 0, in which case you loose the fuel and maybe some of the items. BUT you can stop the progress after you have made it to the crude step and get at least a crude item, or even if it has not made it to crude, you can stop it before the total loss step and JUST use the fuel.
So unless you have absolutely horrendous luck AND you are just not paying atention you never loose the main item. Fuel is ALWAYS consumed (but is inexpensive)
