Well let me start by saying i love the game,it's better than I had hoped and puts eq1 to shame imho.I also love the tradeskilling.HOWEVER......last night I was browsing the broker and went to examine a tunic and ended up buying it for 4gold 75silver....ARRGGGHHHH.I had worked hard up to that point to accumulate 11 gold and because there is no confirm on the broker purchases,a little slip of the mouse cost me dearly.I am now the proud owner of an overpriced tunic I can't even wear:P.Any1 else have this happen? It would have happened before this but I wasn't carrying enough coin on me the first couple of times,so that saved me.Be careful when examing items or make sure your money is in the bank before you do.

I know what you mean... Lucky for me it was something I could use and it was much cheaper! I was looking at backpacks and just so happened to hit buy as opposed to examine and spent over 30 Silver on a 6 slot w/10% weight Reduction. Funny thing was I could make those myself for less, I was just interested and ended up a consumer :)
It would be nice to have a verify option, I could even imagine it won't be long before that is the case. Either way I took my lumps and learned a lesson (Thanks goodness for less out of pocket!)
This is the first time I have ever played an RPG for more than about 10 minutes. they have come a long way from the point and click and read a bunch of text. Immersive is one good word describing this and all I can wonder now is where I would have been had I not gotten sucked up into the world of HalfLife and CounterStrike for so many years. In hindsight I suppose I would have been some higher level character in EQ had I truly known that RPG was not a dirty word (Yes I really thought that from the Bliz**** and other Devs games I had seen)
Great site btw and thanks for taking the time to do so much.

Well, I understand yalls frustration and I am so sorry this happened. But, I dont think a verify button would be a good idea, and here's why. Alot of us that buy components (tin for example) stacks at a time, dont have the option to buy a stack at once. (If we do, please let me know) So having to hit a verify button every time we buy 1 tin x 20 would be dreadful.
However, they could do something like move the buttons further apart?
I can see where a verify option would be a good idea if they let stacks of items be bought at once instead of needing to buy 20 seperate items.

Not having tried this myself, but can't you just right click on the item you are interested in and choose examine? I do this with NPC merchants all the time.

Yes, you can' right-click and choose examine on brokers. I did it for days before I even noticed the "Examine" button on the bottom of the window, and still find it easier, not to mention safer. :) There's a buy option there too, so you still have to be a little careful, but I personally find it easier to get the right option off a menu than to click the right button, no matter how big & obvious they are... that may just be me though.

Yeah you can.. I do that all the time.
What scares me is when I am selling stuff to an NPC merchant and get into the click click mode...I worry I will sell something I dont want.
I am paranoid about that lol

I did that this week. I accidentally sold my nice 2-handed hammer instead of the shaped leather cord I meant to sell

Did that myself when I was getting rid of some bags, I wanted to sell the old 4-5 slot bags that I was replacing with 8 slotters, and accidentally sold one of the 8 slotters in the process.

This is one big drawback to having the vendors only selling their items and not being able to vendor mine.
Of course, if you could, that 8 slot backpack would be 10gp on the vendor or something anyway :)
Also sold a few items I didn't mean to, I'm much more careful with the click click click now - sometimes lag can really hose you.

Yeah, be careful. I dont think you can sell those 4 slotters. Are they the ones you buy from the merchants?

I think you can sell anything as long as it is not no drop/attuned.
If you have anything in the bag however, it won't show up to sell.

Yeah, what im sayin is those 4 slotters you buy from merchants are either No-Value items or No-Trade, cant remember which.

Exactly, which is why I decided after the first fiasco to put at least one item in bags I did not intend to sell. (Including merchant mode)

sorting by price is a good way to avoid selling stuff you want to keep. obviously the good stuff will be more expensive, and further down the list than the crappier stuff.

Perhaps they could add a confirm button AND add an option to have it on or not...
