Inventor's vs Burlap armor - gender based?

There are differences in stats between Inventor's and Burlap armor. A quick overview of them leads me to believe they are equivalent. I haven't done a thorough comparison yet.

I made a threadbare blouse a few days ago and put it on to see what it looked like. Made my male brawler look like a granny!

If I understand this right, Burlap = female casters and Inventor's = male casters. Anyone further along that can confirm this notion?

I made a Burlap Blouse last night....looks just like my level 10 robe but is done in shades of Brown and Beige instead of the nice Red highlights (or Blue and Purple depending on class)

I made... (well I forget now which piece but was the same for both and both pristine) of each

The first had stat1: x stat2:y AC:z power:5 Health: 1
the second had stat1: x stat2:y AC3:z power:3 Health: 3

In other words they were exactly the same except 1 had 2 points less power and 2 more health

I was underwhelmed

Ah, yes, but did your blouse look feminine? As I remember the one I made, as a male halfling, had poofy shoulders and I think a more generous chest area with a lower neckline than I would expect a male to don. :p

Sounds like you're being affected by personal expectations. From what you describe (as I haven't seen it), it sounds like the clothes of some hundreds years ago. Keep an open mind, and if you don't like it, don't wear it as you do have an alternate and nearly equivalent choice. (Sorry about sounding like the oh so standard "don't like it don't play it line"!)

Sorry I didnt do the chest piece, I did boots... no real visual difference.

Was just wondering if anyone who'd tailored more than I noticed this same thing with Threadbare and Laborer? Both are Very Light Armor (scouts or mages) but one looks more like armor and one looks more like robes/PJs. Are the stats any better on the Laborer (which is a smidge higher level)?

Not sure about Tailored versions but the store bought Inventor's weigh less than Burlap.

I made both a pristine burlap and pristine inventors chest. My char is level 18. The burlap conned yellow to me, the inventors conned blue. The AC was the same at level 18, but the burlap has higher AC potential down the road.

I assume similar things happen at Tier 3, but can't confirm as I'm only a level 20 tailor.

Does anyone know if the rare clothing has different images than the common versions?

Both have the same AC but different stats. The biggest difference is the look.

Burlap is geared toward casters since the chest piece looks like a robe.

Inventors is geared toward looking more like a fighter since it looks more like a vest or padded shirt.

That's the only difference I've noticed.
